Cavalier Of The Year & Puppy Of The Year
Sunday September 8th 2013

Wroxall Abbey Estate, Birmingham Road, Wroxall, Warwickshire, CV35 7NB

Following on from the reasonable success of last year’s inaugural COTY & POTY event, we have strived to make this year’s competition even better.

Firstly we have moved to the most beautiful new venue in the Warwickshire countryside easily accessible from the main motorway network – Wroxall Abbey Estate was the country seat of Sir Christopher Wren, and boasts the lovely ‘Wrens Cathedral’ in its grounds.

Wrens Cathedral

There is ample parking and plenty of areas for exercising your dogs.

The Grand Marquee is a large, light, airy space set away from the main hotel....

....with plenty of room to accommodate both the ring, on a good, firm wooden surface, and the dining tables.

There is also an annexe marquee for everyone to park their cages a trolleys with more seating and a bar area.

Having listened to the feedback given on the day last year, the format has been tweaked slightly. This will, hopefully, allow for a slightly smoother running event which will be more enjoyable.

We still have 3 experienced judges for both events, but only one judge will officiate over each group. The dogs will still be judged in a match format, and the draw will be done on the day.

So, with the puppies, one judge will sort out the under 12 month group, another the 12 – 18 months and the last judge the over 18 months group. Once the winner of each group has been arrived at, all 3 judges will then preside over the choice of each Best of Sex, and then ultimately the Puppy of the Year.

Onto the Cavalier of the Year, and again, each judge will preside over one group, so one will judge the dogs, one the bitches and the third will decide between the 2 that are chosen for Cavalier of the Year.

The judges were selected through committee, from suggestions made at the event last year. They are:

Maureen Milton – Fontelania Cavaliers
Judy Wright – Yockley Cavaliers
Evelyn Hurley – Lahume Cavaliers.

We look forward to receiving a brief ‘resume’ from each of the judges in the near future.

The qualification for both remains the same – each 1st in Minor Puppy or Puppy at Championship shows for the POTY .... And CC or Res CC winners for COTY, running from The Combined Championship Show 2012 to Leeds 2013 inclusive.

We hope to welcome both exhibitors and spectators alike.

The price also remains the same – £25 per person to include a complimentary cup of tea/coffee and bacon sandwich on arrival in the morning, a buffet lunch, and another complimentary tea/coffee with biscuits or cake.

The buffet will have a good variety of food, including hot, cold and vegetarian dishes, as well as a choice of deserts. There will also be a cash bar from 12pm.

So ... for cost of an entry for 1 dog at a championship show, you can enjoy a full day out in a beautiful setting, watching the crème de la crème of the breed.

Come and join us and eat, drink and be merry!!!!

Invitations to qualifiers will be out after Leeds 2013 Ch Show and tickets are already available from event organiser – Lucy Koster 01676 532951
