Harvey Carruthers is a General practitioner vet; he qualified in 1990 at the University of Glasgow.

He has worked in variety of posts, predominantly small animal, he also spent 11 years in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, and worked with horses, working dogs and dependants pets.

In general practice he has worked in charity, sole charge and hospital positions and is now Head Vet at Stone Lion Veterinary Centre.

His predominant interests are in small animal medicine, rather than surgery.

He worked on the topic of Syringomyelia with Clare Rusbridge and Nick Jeffries following attendance at the Clinical Research in Practice course run at Cambridge University Vet School in 2005.
