Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Health Breeding Programme - EBV
Don’t forget to send in your Health Screening results to The AHT for inclusion on the EBV Database.
The start of the Cavalier EBV Scheme may be delayed, as The AHT do not have enough screening information from Cavalier Owners to ensure meaningfull Estimated Breeding Values.
If your Cavalier has been MRI scanned for syringomyelia and/or screened for mitral valve disease (heart murmur) and/or eye disease, then The AHT need to have a copy of the results certificates, together with the Kennel Club registered name and number of the dog or a 5-generation pedigree. For quality control purposes The AHT cannot include in their database screening information about a dog unless they hold a copy of the results certificate and have owner consent to have it. All results certificates and the actual disease status of individual dogs will remain completely confidential and will not be shared with any other parties outside the AHT.
All copies of screening results certificates and pedigrees should be sent to:
Dr Sarah Blott
CKCS Health Breeding Programme
Animal Health Trust
Lanwades Park, Kentford
Newmarket
Suffolk CB8 7UU
Or electronic copies of the documents (e.g. pdf files) can be e-mailed to
Owners need to send this information direct to The AHT as screening centres do not do this automatically. - Further Details.

Looking For a Puppy? - CKCS Puppy Register The Cavalier Club runs a register of puppies available from Club Members who can put details of puppies and older dogs they have for sale on the Cavalier Club Puppy Register.
The Club has recently introduced a slightly more formal system for placing a dog on its Register. A form now needs to be completed which can be downloaded from the Puppy Register Pages. The form includes details of any health certificates that may have been obtained for the parents, so that prospective puppy buyers can have more information before visiting a possible puppy.
If you wish to add your dogs to the Club's Register, download the Puppy Register Form and send to The Co-ordinator.
Anyone looking to purchase a puppy is recommended to contact the Club Puppy Register Co-ordinator, Carole Butler, telephone 01285 770651, for details of puppies available.

Show Critiques
We endeavour to publish ALL Championship Show critiques on Cavaliers.
However if you are judging at a Cavalier Breed Club Limited or Open Show, we would love to have the results and your critique to publish for all to read. If you would like us to publish it just send it attached to an email to the Webmaster or by snail mail to Dave Norris.
Unlike some of the Dog Press, we do not edit any critique, what the Judge sends us is what appears. |
