Dogs.   Mrs R Mochrie
Often judges preface their critique with a general overview of their findings. Today my main impression was of the number of really good quality dogs it was my privilege to judge. While accepting that breeders have to be constantly vigilant in order to maintain standards, at present the future looks good with so much quality upon which to build.
CC Lymer & Scheidt's Ch Lymrey Roger
RCC Boardman's Ch Volney Quest
Best Puppy
Minor Puppy (17 Entries, 3 Absent)
1 Lymer's Lymrey Hi Octane NAF
Blen in huge coat for one so young, nice compact size, good bone, level topline, good rear angulation, moved with confidence.
2 Paterson's Phrenchy Watshizname
Blen, very similar in type to 1 both in terms of size, shape & markings.
3 Andrews & Markie's Drewsankie Just William
Puppy (15, 2)
1 Shinnick's Leelyn Major League
Well coated Ruby of good colour nice head, dark eye, short coupled, nice deep brisket, good bone, nice angulation, moved well.
2 Forrester's Honeybet Designed for Salbrie
Attractive Tri, broad muzzle, bright tan, soft straight coat, good reach of neck, short coupled, level topline. A little more animation would have completed the picture, hopefully with experience he will gain this.
3 Vella's Miletree Romeo at Cinderlace
Junior (12, 2)
1 King-Smith's Ispahan Galileo
Beautifully balanced Blen, plenty of substance within the breed size, attractive head, cobby body, good spring of rib, good rear movement.
2 Andrews & Markie's Otus Morning Magician for Drewsankie
Attractively marked Tri, nice size, pretty head, short coupled body, good reach of neck, nice level topline both standing & on the move.
3 Bunce's Tanmerack Clark Gable
Maiden (5, 0)
1 Smith's Salador Cadabra
Mature Blen in full coat, good dark eye & nose, plenty of substance, good spring of rib, short back, well angulated quarters. A handful for his owner but moved well when settled.
2 Knapper's Regensian Tavistock
Ruby of extremely rich colour, nice head, short straight back, good bone, well angulated rear giving positive movement, moved & showed well.
3 Dawson's Nottus Hooray Henry
Novice (4, 0) Not the easiest class to judge because all were worthy but differing very much in type.
1 Boardman's Volney Super Sleuth
Heavier marked Blen, attractive head features, nice straight coat, well constructed body, gave him the class on his overall quality but would prefer a little more animation.
2 Snook's Beauella Trade Mark
Blen, made in a slightly heavier mould & slightly longer cast than 1. Very attractive head, straight silky textured coat.
3 Hill & Webber's Montcolly Antony
Grad (3, 0)
1 Smith & Aldous' Aranel Bombastic
Profusely coated Blen, deep stop, huge eye, good reach of neck, level topline, good rear movement.
2 Levy & Sedgwick's Pascavale Enchanted
Blen, smaller made than 1 but not lacking in substance. Very pretty head, broad muzzle & black nose pigment, lovely quality of coat, put down to perfection, totally different type to 1 whose overall balance won the day.
3 Hazeltine's Juzandia Infrared
Post Grad (14, 1)
1 Name Withheld Name Withheld
Well broken Blen, lovely to go over, head which I considered exactly correct to the Standard, good reach of neck & lay back of shoulder, plenty of substance, deep brisket, well angulated quarters, sound movement. A little more coat would complete the picture.
2 Hollamby's Tamcinia Badgers Folly
B/T, attractive head, expressive eye, short well cushioned muzzle, very sound, looked good in profile with straight coat, good tailset.
3 Rogerson's Rabymar Waltzing Darkie
Limit (18, 0)
1 Shinnick's Leelyn Rug Rat
B/T I have admired from the ringside & was not disappointed on going over him, in full bloom, lovely head with broad cushioned foreface, expressive soft eye, rich tan, well put together, good bone & cobby body, well laid shoulders, good angulation, moved & showed well.
2 Smith's Salador Celtic Magician
Well broken Tri, one needs to go over to appreciate fully. Lovely head, dark expressive eyes, bright tan, well put together, well put together with bone of correct substance, good shoulders & rear angulation, short cobby body, shown with plenty of coat but today this was a little fly away which detracted from overall picture.
3 Harvey's Rivermoor Charley Boy
Open (10, 1) Three very worthy Chs headed the line up in this class & in the final analysis it was a hair splitting decision.
1 Lymer & Scheidt's Ch Lymrey Roger
Well marked Blen, very well presented profuse coat, lovely head, round expressive dark eye, broad foreface, good earset & reach of neck, well laid back shoulders, deep brisket, good spring of rib, level topline, well angulated rearquarters, moved & showed well. CC.
2 Boardman's Ch Volney Quest
Blen, heavier marked but having similar qualities to 1, I was so torn between these two that it made it inevitable to award Quest RCC although there had been a couple of potential contenders in earlier classes.
