Dogs.   Mrs G J Lilley
Thank you for such a marvellous entry of utterly charming dogs whose temperaments were well night faultless as was presentation and I could count on one hand those having anything other than clean silky coats. However, a number lacked muscle tone and could do with more exercise.
Shoulders, it has to be said, were too upright in the vast majority and without a decent layback, no dog can be expected to move properly. It is case of no shoulder no dog. Fortunately, there are still a few, very few, decent ones about and these figured largely amongst my placings and those short listed. Might I be so bold as to encourage breeders to use stud dogs with good shoulders and fronts whilst there is still time before this vital part of the basic construction is lost in a breed I have lived with and love so dearly?

1 Gaskell's Jeilohn Edric
Tri, who scored in head. He has a well laid shoulder and is so sound and accurate on the move. Did everything asked of him but nothing more, could just do with a little extra enthusiasm as the basics are all there.
2 Sharratt's Lyndabelle Country Lad with Dunadrob
Well balanced, typey Tri, obviously and rightly still immature in coat at just six months. An exciting beautifully made youngster, who moved extremely well.
3 Hughes' Loranka's Party Games
Blen with excellent pigment and dark expressive eye, good shoulder and body. Can still tighten a little in front.
Res Koster's Harana Ted Baker
VHC Vella's Cinderlace Solomon
Puppy (15, 5)
1 Claydon's Brymarden Montana
Handsome Blen with the most beautiful head and so well balanced, full of himself and a great showman. Lovely outline both standing and on the move, excellent make and shape with well laid shoulder and good firm body. Super mover with good topline and tailset. BPD. Interestingly, his litter sister was BPB and it was a joy to see them going round together as she is his exact femiine counterpart. A lovely couple and, with my co-judge's instant agreement, it was the dog who was BP
2 Barker's Kaishmar Cool Hand Luke
Very sound moving willing typey Blen with all the parts in the right place with good layback of shoulder. Most attractive, in good coat for his age.
3 Schilizzi's Chacombe Armani
Gorgeous Blen and my frustration of the day. Super for make, shape, balance and movement. He has a lovely head and expression and is the greatest of showmen, if only he wasn't so proud of his tail!

1 Gardiner & Dansage's Merriquest Royal Velvet
Beautiful Tri, well made all through and scored on his lovely head. He has a good layback of shoulder, dark eyes and pigment and excellent movement. Really he has everything, just wish he had appeared to enjoy himself more.
2 Ford's Hiscli Rupert
Tri, with good shoulder, topline and tailset, who moved extremely well once his owner had shortened the lead so he knew where he was supposed to be going!
3 Baillie's Fyrnrose Lachie
Blen. with well laid shoulder, who also moved beautifully.

3 Pinder's Scotlass Benjamino
Blen of good type, somewhat erratic in movement as he kept finding very interesting things to investigate on the floor but is basically very sound when he concentrates on the job in hand. Needs to learn to make the best of himself.

1 Hill & Webber's Montcolly Brian
My star of the day, in gleaming clean straight silky richly coloured ruby coat, elegance personified yet all male. He impressed from the moment he entered the ring and further assessment only confirmed this opinion. He has a head and expression to die for! Beautiful dark well shaped eyes, well laid shoulder, so superbly made all through that he is a joy to handle with firm front, good body, well angulated shoulder and hindquarters with non-stop happily wagging, well set and carried tail.. His balance is superb, up on his toes and such a great showman, covering ground with his free effortless movement. CC, his first
2 Rennard's Deranmar Michael JW
Charming happy, well balanced Blen with spot, darkest of eye and pigment, super for size and type, an excellent mover with well laid shoulder, good body, topline and tailset. A happy energetic showman with non-stop wagging tail. Close up to the winner here and a strong contender for the RCC.

1 Inglis' Craigowl Billy Elliot
Handsome Tri of lovely size, type and balance. Beautiful head, expression and eye, Under his mature coat with rich tan markings is the most beautifully made, well muscled body with all the parts fitting neatly into the whole with well laid shoulder and good topline, well set and carried tail.. Super sound and positive on the move. He waited until the final decision for the big green cards to insist on pulling over to his owner on the move so had to be content with the RCC. He well deserves his title, which I hope will not be long in coming.
2 Ace's Ashtelle Debonair
Very sound moving Blen, excellent outline and balance with well laid shoulder, excellent pigment and lovely dark expressive eyes.
3 Fox-Shone's Pamedna Esperanza
Blen with lovely head and expression, well broken markings and excellent pigment with good layback of shoulder, well balanced with lovely outline, good steady mover, could be a touch more positive behind.

Super for size, type, make, shape and balance, in full mature well marked Blen coat. A happy enthusiastic showman, beautifully presented, who scored on his superb layback of shoulder.
2 Bubb's Ch Wandris Entertainer JW
Blen., very similar in type to the winner with lovely masculine head, excellent pigment and eye, well coated and balanced, very sound and positive on the move.
3 Hollamby's Tamcinia Badgers Folly
B/T with a good shoulder, head and eye, well made all through. He moved with purpose and drive. Coat presentation could be better to emphasise his undoubted qualities.
