Dogs. Mr R Calladine
This was a challenging entry due to the diversity of type, there are far too many dogs at present with short legs giving a foreign shape, the usual tail carriage is also disappointing although now there seems to be a trend towards rounded croups and the tail being set too low. The breed has had many challenges recently with some difficult hereditary diseases cropping up which are perhaps making people rethink their breeding programmes. The gene pool is certainly less than that of the 80's which may at last make people think about using dogs because they fit the Standard rather than following the crowd using the latest fashionable dog.
I was pleased to agree for Ch Amantra Madonna to be BOB. This bitch is full of quality it certainly put up a good show. I also agreed for Lanola Salsa to be BP, this Blen puppy has great potential, she is an excellent type puppy, made soundly throughout, without doubt a very exciting prospect.

1 Newton’s Tonnew Tacoma
Nicely marked Blen, very nice to go over on the table, good neck, shoulders & turn of stifle, moved well enough to win the class. Needs more time to settle which did cost him BPD.
2 Hazeltine’s Juzandia Red Hot Chilli Pepa
Liked this Ruby a lot, has many attributes that set him apart from the rest, very good head giving desired expression & excellent eyes, very nice to go over, good neck & shoulders, excellent spring of rib a depth of chest, good turn of stifle giving a very nice shape while stacked. The handler unfortunately did not get the best from him today which was a great shame. A very exciting prospect for the future though.

Ruby of excellent quality caught my eye instantly, kept an amazing shape on the move, excellent head carriage, superb topline, excellent tailset, promising head with the correct amount of cushioning for his age, coat of good colour & texture finished a very nice overall picture.
2 Maclaine’s Lochbuie Billy Elliot
Blen of pleasing quality, masculine head, large eyes framed by good ears, very good to go over, good neck & shoulders, excellent depth, well turned stifles. Although he moved soundly he did give his handler trouble which cost him a higher placing. Promising overall dog who should do well in the future.

RCC
2 Inglis’ Craigowl Billy Elliot
Tri of immense promise, one of the best tail carriages I can remember on a Cavalier, it's not until you see him floating round the ring that you appreciate just how bad the breed has got on this point, of excellent quality, as is usual from this kennel, he is going to take his time to mature but watch out when he does, soundly made throughout, excellent head. Coat is a little heavy marked but made the most of by superb presentation.

1 Boardman’s Volney Super Sleuth JW
Blen of superb quality, nice head, gentle expression, good neck & shoulders, excellent topline, well balanced body, correct length of leg. Very nice to go over on the table & although moved soundly, I felt that having two handlers did disrupt the flow for him & disadvantage him for going further. When settled am sure he will trouble the best.
2 Parker’s Jordanic Lucca
Good quality Blen, well made throughout good quality head, very nice to go over on the table & does not disappoint on the move. Tail carriage could be better as in so many but this does not detract from his many qualities.
3 Bloice’s Scotlass Harrison JW
Res Lunam’s Flossybrook Total Eclipse
Post Graduate (15)
1 Hughes’ Loranka's Jubilation
Blen, an absolute joy to go over, good neck & shoulders, excellent spring of rib, good body, superb angulation, good length of leg. His shape was excellent held a superb topline, short coupled body, wonderfully balanced throughout, very well marked coat of correct colour & texture & enough quantity to enhance his outline without masking it, in superb condition, presented to perfection, moved very well with a superb disposition, am sure he will not be long in gaining his tide. I was honoured to give him his first CC today & look forward to hearing great things of him in the future. CC
2 Richards’ Rosacanina Teddy
Blen of good quality moved very well, looked a picture standing, well made throughout, good length of leg to give him the correct outline, In very good order, a credit to his owner.

Res Ford’s Tuppenlil Benvolio

Limit (22)
1 Lymer & Scheidt’s Lymrey Hi Octane
Blen, very much is on HI Octane, his handler had to work overtime to get him to settle & was in danger of loosing the class. Nice quality Blen, good head, nice eyes, excellent pigmentation, nicely made throughout, good shape on the move when settled. Would be better with slightly less coat as this does tend to hide his shape. When going over him you do find his many qualities & appreciate his well made body.
2 Forrester’s Salbrie Delaqua
The first two just show how different the breed can be, he needed some of what 1 was on. Blen of good quality, very nice to go over, does not disappoint on the move, good head & eye, excellent pigmentation. Needs to show himself off more & will trouble the best the starts to show himself off more.
3 Godwin’s Rosscrea Maverick At Simpatico
Res Holman’s Willowtump Bilbo Baggins
VHC Li’s Avalcier Atomic Blaze
Open (8)
1 Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Ryan
Blen of excellent quality, really liked his head & kind expression, large eyes, excellent pigmentation, nicely made throughout, correct bone & substance for size, scored on profile movement with superb reach & extension giving good ground coverage.
2 Hughes’ Loranka's Starstealer
Ruby, really liked him for his elegance, strode round the ring with superb head carriage giving him a little extra on the others in the class. Nicely made throughout, moves very well. Would prefer a little more spring of rib & a firmer topline for top honours but if this does firm up with more exercise he will be in with more than a fighting chance.

Bitches Mrs S Ireland-Cooke
I should like to thank the committee for asking me to judge this lovely show, the exhibitors for a nice quality entry and the weatherman for such a beautiful day!
I was looking for small, pretty bitches, well balanced with a good outline and just a touch of elegance. Good necks, shoulders and toplines are a "must" and I was able to find this in all my class winners and most of my placings. In the bright sunlight some eyes were just not dark enough, more than a few were straight in shoulder and I did have a few bad mouths. We should also be aware that legs are definitely getting shorter. This does not look so bad in a young dog but as a cavalier matures and deepens in body (especially bitches after a litter) we are losing the elegant balance of the correct cavalier shape.
