Bitches   Mrs J Grant
A lovely entry of bitches, with all four colours being well represented. I was quite surprised to see so many incorrect bites in the lower classes. Many will right themselves but many of the worst ones will not. I am not a mouth fanatic & prefer to put dogs up for their virtues they offer, rather than discard them for their faults.
The day was one of the hottest days of the year, but we had an open sided marquee which did give us some shade, but it was rather humid with not much air. We had a good size ring which let all of the bitches show off their paces.
The B/Ts in particular did suffer in this heat. I know they didn't give their best, especially in the later classes. Most of the dogs were panting with their tongues hanging out which alters their expression. I could feel the heat radiating from their bodies. I found lots of upright shoulders which does affect movement.
On the plus side all of the bitches were well presented with no knots or tangles. Although many had dropped their coats this only allowed me to see their shape better. No light eyes, mostly full & round. I was looking for a gay happy little bitch of the correct size but with substance. When it came to the final line up I was very pleased to see that my class winners were all very similar. My three final ones, the CC winner, Res CC winner & Best Puppy, were all out of the same mould. My co-judge & I were in perfect agreement for the B.O.B. & the Best Puppy both going to the 2 lovely dogs.

Best Puppy
Surman's Vallender Marley

Minor Puppy (23 Entries, 2 Absent) The 10 I pulled out in this class were all good representatives of the breed & many will go on to do a lot of winning. But in a class of this size, the puppy has to have that extra something.
1 Surman’s Vallender Marley
My Best Bitch Puppy - In good coat which was a well broken colour. Sensible size, caught my eye on entering the ring, on going over her wasn't disappointed. Well laid back shoulders leading into a short compact body. Good turn of stifle which made for good movement. Head needs to develop yet which is as it should do at this age. Excellent formation of teeth. Dark pigment in both nose & eyes. A happy confident little bitch.
2 Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Itz Betty TAF
Another happy little bitch. But didn't have that sparkle of my 1st. Couldn't fault her movement. Again head needs to develop a little. Suspect these two will change places many times.
3 Boundy’s Rubyfield Fidget
Res Ballantine’s Middleshott Chloe
VHC Goodwin’s Lanola Move Over Darling
Puppy (17, 4)
1 Allerton’s Pauroi Moonlight Shadow
A tri bitch who had a few freckles on her muzzle. But this didn't distract from her pretty head piece. Short & cobby with a good set on tail. Medium bone which I do like to see. Moved with drive. High set ears with plenty of movement.
2 Flower’s Anberan Tazoberry
Lovely little B/T with correct bone. Hope her tan will darken as she gets older. Being in the first class of the day it was still relatively cool, so she was able to show her virtues. Moved round the ring with plenty of drive.
3 Elkin’s Elkjen Tamelia
Res Goodgame’s Glynco Candy Girl
VHC Bull’s Ladash Bryony
Junior (27, 5) Best class of the day with some beautiful bitches present. Again I pulled out 10, but the winner was outstanding.
1 Fox-Shone’s Pamedna Touch of Fan-TC
Well marked tri-colour. Ideal size with a classic outline & well angulated forequarters & turn of stifle. Arched neck & level topline, which all goes together to make correct movement.
2 Li’s Avalcier Liberty
Same size blenheim bitch. Very happy showy little girl. Great clarity of colour. Very well presented, loved her dark sparkling eyes. Lacking a little in coat compared to my winner, but this emphasised her well arched neck & sloping shoulders.
3 Flower’s Anberan Ginger Truffle
Res Baillie’s Fyrnrose Morwyn Star
VHC Mynott’s Honeybet Just Magic
Yearling (10, 0) Not as good a class as Junior but never the less I was happy with my winners.
1 Homes’ Leogem Minuet JW
A classy little bitch with many virtues, moved true & steady round the ring, but lacked sparkle in the challenge. A pretty feminine little lady who has real quality bone & substance. Put together in a small package.
2 Hill & Webber’s Montcolly Liccy
Tri-colour in sparkling condition. Loved her pretty head with round sparkling eyes. In very good coat. Completely level back with correct tail set.
3 Bartlett’s Korolevsky Zviozhdochka
Res Bayliss’ Castlewytch Rose
VHC Turnbull’s Middleshott Louise at Peakdowns
Novice (10, 4)
1 Gow’s Lyncraeg Hosanna
Blen bitch who moved straight & true. Correct length of neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Nice sensible size.
2 Richardson’s Kringleholme Applause
Little larger & longer than my first. But has a lot to offer. Unplaced in the large Junior class but deserved her placing here.
3 Bull’s Ladash Bryony
Res Jarrett’s Myhope Moody Blue at Harrowood TAF
Graduate (9, 2)
1 Waters’ Maibee Gentle Touch
Elegant little bitch who was well out of coat but had nothing to hide. Short & cobby with correct amount of bone, moved straight & true.
2 Ballantine’s Middleshott Emma ShCM
Loved the make & shape of her, unfortunately her hind movement let her down. Clear blaze & high set ears in such a pretty head.
3 Bloomfield’s Oaklake Just Dreaming
Res Bradley’s Casimari Sweet Georgia
VHC Wilson’s Willow Joella
Post Graduate (15, 1)
1 Mynott’s Honeybet Hot Rosie Lee
3 very pretty bitches headed this class & not a lot to choose between them. 1st was a super little tri-colour, one who I considered for the Res CC. But still a lot of growing up to do. Bright tan in all the right places. A straight silky coat of correct texture. Arched neck leading into sloping shoulders. Short & cobby body. Moved with drive going round the ring.
2 Hindle’s Ellisiana Shan Tung
Not a lot to choose between these quality bitches. Slightly longer in body but still had the elegance there. Very happy & still showed her heart out despite the humid conditions.
3 Wheeler’s Homerbrent Bliss
Res Koster’s Harana Popstar
VHC Weston & Johnson’s Ecotyne Fairey Story
Mid Limit (10, 4)
1 Claydon’s Brymarden Moon River JW
My Res CC winner. One of the few in lovely coat which was long & flowing & the correct soft & silky texture. Great clarity between the chestnut and white. Beautifully presented. Moved round the ring as if she owned it with perfect balance. Hard driving movement. Strong elegant neck lines flowing into sloping shoulders. Broad skull with well cushioned muzzle. Soft gentle expression.
2 Hill & Webber’s Montcolly Bassey
Happy little B/T girl. Right size. Good rich tan on a gleaming black coat. Lovely tail set coming from a short & cobby body. Loved her dark sparkling eyes which looked full of devilment.
3 Smith’s Beaudale Ebony Eyes
Res Crane’s Spindlepoint First Course for Cranvarl
VHC Payne’s Catemmsal Party Doll
Limit (11, 4)
1 Hughes’ Loranka's Star Surprise
Another who I considered for the Res CC. Happy little ruby girl who outshone all the others in the class. Pigment was spot on in a very pretty head. The only critism I had was in her coat colour. Although a good rich colour I would have liked to see it a shade darker.
2 Glen’s Sandbrae Rhapsody in Blue
Think whole-colours were coming into their own today as this was a B/T. Think teh weather was getting to her a bit as she was not happy. She was panting a lot with her tongue out which spoiled her expression. But deserved her place. Rich tan on a gleaming black coat.
3 Hall’s Tasset Sweet Affair JW
Res Bloomfield’s Oaklake Debbie Harry
VHC Bolland’s Shandego Annabella
Open (11, 1)
1 Goodwin’s Ch Lanola Salsa JW
The star of the day. My CC winner. Small & cobby without loosing substance. Very rich coat colour, straight & silky of correct texture. Classical outline, excellent spring of rib, firm level backline & strong loin. Shows great freedom of movement. Only thing to let her down was her nose pigment which was slightly off, this was the deciding factor for B.O.B. But had a broad skull & good foreface with well cushioned muzzle with a gentle expression.
2 Hughes’ Ch Loranka's Celebration Time
Wasn't an easy decision between these 2 lovely bitches. She looked a little tired. Maybe the heat was getting to her. Much of the same remarks apply. 2 very worthy champions.
3 Gamble & Name Withheld Lisgarth Petrouchka with **
