Dogs. Mrs Heather Lamont
Thank you to the secretary and committee of Manchester Dog Show for the invitation to judge at this show and to my very helpful, efficient stewards. I was delighted with the quality of my winners and found their presentation and showmanship very good. However, I was disappointed to find several grubby dogs, which I certainly wouldn't want on my knee as comforters, and quite a few trimmed dogs. When comparing similar dogs to the breed standard this was taken in to account, and I penalised accordingly

Best Puppy Gillhespy's Lorphil Lyphard

Minor Puppy (19 Entries, 2 Absent)
1 Loades’ Justice Raffles Rosirius
Richly coloured attractive ruby with a gorgeous head, large dark eyes and dense pigmentation. Gentle, quiet nature showed in his expression. Well balanced, of correct size with moderate bone. Well constructed, he moved well with a level back and flowing tail.
2 Banks’ Pamedna Cotton Sox
Another very promising puppy with a lovely head, dark eyes and very good pigmentation. Beautifully presented and with a very showy nature, he was very eye-catching. Just needs to settle a little on the move.

Puppy (18, 2)
1 Gillhespy’s Lorphil Lyphard
Well balanced, typical toy dog with nothing overdone, and unassuming gentle temperament. Correct size with good, moderate bone. Rich chestnut markings. Most gorgeous head with dark eyes, well cushioned muzzle and dense nose pigmentation. Well made throughout, he moved soundly. Delighted that my co-judge loved him too. BEST PUPPY
2 Smith & Aldous’ Aranel Cosmic
Quality dog who caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring and I thought I had found my winner. These two puppies are both top quality and will exchange places many times. Excellent construction, movement, carriage and presentation. Lovely head with huge, limpid dark eyes. Just preferred the nose pigmentation of 1 on the day.
3 Hall’s Khatibi Tiger Tim
Res Barwell’s Charlottetown Motivator
VHC Koster’s Harana Ringo Starr
Junior (17, 2) A strong class with many very appealing exhibits.
1 Hughes’ Loranka's Enchanting
Well named, I found this little tri enchanting. Showy little tricolour of the size and substance I like. Good reach of neck and yet short coupled. Moved well with level topline and flowing tail carriage. Gorgeous head with well cushioned muzzle and huge, lustrous round dark eyes giving such an appealing outlook.
2 Biggs’ Korolevsky Faberge Kellorian
Another pup with a distinct stamp of quality. Nice head with huge dark round eyes and good nose pigmentation. He presented an elegant profile with well laid back shoulders, arched neck, level topline and well turned stifles. Moved freely with style.

1 Koster’s Dortmund Take A Chance Harana
Attractive, well constructed and well balanced black & tan. Moved freely with drive, holding a level topline. Pleasing head with dark eyes and gentle expression. Shown in very good condition with gleaming coat. Happy, outgoing showman.
2 Maclaine’s Lochbuie Play To The Gallery
Lovely head with appealing expression and huge lustrous dark eyes. Great neck and shoulders, short coupled, level back, short hocks which he used to advantage. Slightly unsure of himself on the day, but if he starts playing to the gallery, he could trouble the best.

Res Salisbury’s Clopsville Jimmy Bean
VHC Mancey’s Castlewytch Montenay NAF
Post Graduate (21, 3)
1 Schilizzi’s Chacombe Armani
Gorgeous blenheim with an exquisite head and expression framed by long ear fringes, exemplifying breed type. I could have looked into those huge dark eyes for some time! Correct size and shape with elegant neck and shoulders and short coupled body. Rich chestnut markings. Moved and showed well.
2 Barton’s Chantismere Chippendale at Loranka
Another quality exhibit. Richly marked blenheim of correct size. Very attractive, typical head with large dark eyes and dense nose pigmentation. Very elegant reach of neck with a short coupled body, something which can be difficult to find. Moved and showed well and displayed a happy temperament.
3 Hunter’s Spennithorne Justin Thyme
Res Bate’s Chantismere Montana at Dakerima
VHC Korn’s Sandusk Monterey JW
Limit (24, 2) What a lovely class of top quality exhibits, some of which had to go cardless, I felt my first five were of exceptional quality.
1 Claydon’s Brymarden Montana JW
Blenheim with my ideal head. Level skull, correct stop, well finished foreface with plenty of cushioning. Large round dark eyes twinkling with enthusiasm, and dense nose pigmentation. Very good construction with well proportioned body of ideal size. He moved beautifully, with his neck arched, driving forward with short hocks and holding a level topline. Res CC but pushed very hard with his winsome personality for top honours.
2 Lymer & Scheidt’s Lymrey Hi Command JW
A very handsome blenheim whose attributes I did not fully appreciate before examination on the table. I preferred the head of my winner but this dog has an elegant reach of neck, well laid back shoulders, straight legs and moderate bone. Short coupled with good spring of rib, level back, everything the breed standard asks for. Shown in excellent condition and moved beautifully.
3 Allerton’s Kavacay Magic Dream at Deeriem

1 Baker & Park’s Ch Keyingham Branwell
This dog commanded the ring as soon as he entered it with his free and elegant action, so well balanced and shown in gleaming condition. Very handsome head with gentle expression, dark eyes and nose pigmentation. Elegant arched neck, well laid shoulders, level topline, short coupled with good spring of rib, strong quarters, he was a picture in profile, both standing and on the move Long silky coat in excellent condition, every inch a champion. Dog CC and, with the agreement of my very pleasant co-judge, BOB
2 Rix & Berry’s Ch Ricksbury Royal Hero JW
This dog epitomises breed type to me. Ideal size with correct bone and substance. Most glorious head with huge, limpid dark eyes and melting expression. Another very worthy champion. Well made throughout, he moved very well. Splitting hairs, as I had to in this company, I just preferred the neck carriage of my top two winners.
3 Inglis’ Ch Craigowl Billy Elliot
Res Rennard’s Deranmar Michael JW
VHC Dawson’s Nottus Hooray Henry Sh.CM
Veteran (4, 1)
1 Sidgwick’s Ch Paulian Magpie JW
A seven year old tri champion who can still show the younger ones how to command the ring as he swept around with arched neck, level back and correct drive and tail carriage. Obviously enjoying his day out, at one with his handler.
2 Webster’s Tigridias M'Lord Alexander
A youthful ten year old blenheim with full dentition. Attractive head. Short body with good spring of rib. Well marked, happy temperament.
3 Owens’ Parkwall Lewis

Judging my own breed in its home country gave me tremendous pleasure. The quality was superb and I feel very confident for the future of the breed. In most classes any of the 'first cut' 10 dogs would have been worth a prize, and surely they would most likely be champions in any other country.

Best Puppy King-Smith’s Tameline Attraction Cum Ispahan

Minor Puppy (26 Entries, 2 Absent) What a lovely class to start my day!
1 Fox-Shone’s Pamedna Touch of Fan-TC
Lovely tricolour with uniquely perfect markings. Excellent bone, substance and proportions. Sweet expression. Sound mover.
2 Vella’s Cinderlace My Fair Lady
Correct proportions, good bone, excellent rear angulation enabling her to move exceptionally well. Would prefer larger eyes. Very happy show girl with right attitude.
3 Inglis’ Craigowl Lolita
Res Hall’s Nellie Alys at Tasset
VHC Barnard’s Toshini Eva
Puppy (31, 5)  Lovely class with many promising puppies. The first two winners in this class impressed me most being very sound, elegant and absolutely true movers, although I would prefer a slightly smaller size. All card winners should give their owners plenty of success in the future.
1 King-Smith’s Tameline Attraction Cum Ispahan
Excellent neck, promising head, lovely bone, excellent coat and clear markings, sound mover, happy show girl. Best Bitch Puppy.
2 Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Impetuous

This little bitch stood out in the crowd. Very balanced and compact, excellent toy size, good bone, exceptionally sound. Free, easy and elegant movement so very rare in the breed. Lovely eyes, sweet expression. Long silky coat in full bloom, with attractive markings. Clever show girl. Great future ahead. CC.
2 Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Itz Anna
Lovely breed type, correct proportions, good bone, excellent hindquarters, easy mover. Unfortunately not presented in the top form, her coat and face needs more attention. However, could not deny her this placing, she is a quality junior.

Yearling (17, 3)
1 Boardman’s Volney April Love
Full of breed type. Lovely cobby bitch , excellent size. Beautiful expression, well cushioned head with spot. Excellent head carriage on the move. Showing non-stop and demanding the win. With touch more maturity and coat should easily go to the top.
2 Allerton’s Karabel Klassic for Deeriem
Textbook sound Blenheim with excellent hindquarters and strong drive, excellent front. Somewhat relaxed attitude, would do better with touch more energetic showmanship. Otherwise, this lovely bitch has all the essential elements to " make it".

VHC Mynott’s Honeybet Hot Rosie Lee
Post Graduate (23, 4)

Quite heavily marked Blenheim. Lovely breed type, perfect size. Excellent long silky coat. Very sound mover, she is actually better on the move than standing. Very attractive bitch who was in my 'last three' when considering CC winner.
2 Rennard’s Deranmar Amelie
Slightly longer frame than my winner, this quality bitch steadily improved and moved up and up the more I saw her on the move. She has exceptionally good front assembly, both shoulder and upper arm are "from the text book"! Excellent bone, beautiful eyes. Coat let her down today, not in full bloom.

1 Goodwin’s Ch Lanola Salsa JW Sh.CM
Full of breed type. Lovely expression with beautiful, large and dark eyes so important for the breed. Balanced head. Excellent topline with good shoulders. Strong rear, best mover in the class. Perfect markings with dark chestnut. Unfortunately her nose pigment was slightly off today which cost her the ticket. I am sure that she will collect many more green cards once we get the sunshine back. She reminds me of her lovely sire Ch Tameline Northern Dancer. Reserve CC.
