Dogs. Mrs C Wright
I wish to thank the committee of SKC for inviting me to judge for the first time at Championship show level and also the exhibitors for the very large entry of quality dogs and for making in some cases a very long journey to show under me. I felt very privileged. Thanks also to my stewards.
On the whole most dogs were very clean and well presented with a few exceptions, coats in some cases were not at their best but with the weather so mixed it was not surprising. What I did find was a lot of dogs with really dirty teeth, several with small light eyes and eyes are,. in my opinion one of the most important features of our breed. I was pleased to see hardly any evidence of trimming but dismayed to find a couple of coloured noses . I felt that the bitches were far better in quality which is good for the future but it did result in making some very hard decisions, however I was very pleased with all my winners.

1 Pagan’s Lewisisle Highland Stewart at Sorata
8 months B/T with good head for age, nice length of muzzle, rich tan and large dark eyes with a soft expression, good reach of neck, nice shoulder and topline. Well handled and moved well.
2 Shone’s Cobalatino Otis Redding
6 month B/T on I believe, his first time out, coped very well with the surroundings and noise inside the tent, slightly smaller than 1 but another with good conformation, bone and movement. Very promising.

1 Hughes’ Loranka's Aramis
Cobby blen with nice width of skull, dark eyes and well set feathered ears. Nice foreface with good neck and shoulders, rounded rib and well muscled hindquarters. Good sound movement and as always well presented.BPD. Just felt in the challenge for BP that the bitch had the edge over him as she had more coat.
2 Barwell’s Charlottetown George Cross
Another very well put together blen, very close up to 1 with nice masculine head and length of muzzle, nice well feathered, well set ears, good lay of shoulder and level topline. Strong sound movement and a well broken silky coat completed the picture.

1 Allerton & Brewer’s Bowfort Rouge avec Deeriem
Profusely coated ruby with nice large dark eyes, nice foreface and width of skull, very good pigment, well set ears, and good shoulder placement .I would prefer a slightly more cobby body, but won here on maturity and front movement.
2 Pagan’s Sorata Bob Marley
Really nice rich ruby with the essential dark eyes, good earset, nice neck and topline, with moderate bone and good spring of rib. Liked his shape very much but felt his front movement could have been better and a little more coat needed to complete the picture.
3 Waterall’s Butlerfield Mad Leaper

1 Rogerson’s Rabymar Courageous Heart
Most handsome B/T with a very strong but not coarse masculine head, framed with well feathered ears, lovely soft expression from his large dark eyes and really nice rich tan. Good front, ribs and topline and strong positive movement. Excellent presentation.
2 Beattie’s Phylmars Bob Up for Norcrest

I have admired this quality dog for some time and appreciated the chance to go over him, has such a lovely masculine head but it is the soft expression of the eyes for me. Really nice reach of neck and shoulder and good bone. Well muscled hindquarter which gave a good driving movement. In very good coat. A serious contender for the RCC.
2 Bull’s Ladash Bramble JW ShCM
Another really nice well broken blen with very similar attributes to 1, liked him very much, well constructed and a nice compact size, good coat with plenty of feathering. Moved soundly just preferred the reach of neck on 1.

Tri just my type, loved his generous head with plenty of cushioning underneath and large dark eyes and rich tan which was sadly lacking in some Tri colours. Good ear set and good front, neck and topline. Lovely round rib and good tail carriage, really strong flowing movement. Another serious contender for the RCC, but I just felt that he was in- between coats and not quite as good as I have seen him look but I loved him.
2 Gillhespy’s Lorphil Lyphard JW ShCM
Gorgeous blen who was unlucky to meet 1 but I see they have the same sire. Another much admired from afar, lovely cobby body and good shape with good bone. Nice head, dark eyes and pigment. Well constructed with nice rounded rib, good tail carriage and movement

B/T in full gleaming coat. Generous head good width of skull and foreface. Nice length of muzzle, soft expression. Nice front, topline and short back. Well muscled strong hindquarters and lovely movement.
2 Mynott’s Honeybet My Way
Ruby with dense pigment, good reach of neck and shoulder placement, nice bone, level topline. Good coat and condition. I would prefer him to have had a touch more weight as he was slightly thin in the hindquarters today, but he moved and showed himself well.

Blen with such a lovely well proportioned head. Flat skull with the desired lozenge, and nice full foreface. Expressive dark eyes and good earset to frame his head. So very well constructed with good reach of neck, shoulders and topline. Well rounded ribs, tight front, nice tail carriage. Excellent movement and lots of lovely coat of rich chestnut on pearly white. I feel this dog has it all and I hope he will be lucky enough to go to the top.Res CC.

Liked this beautifully presented blen with a straight silky coat very much. Masculine head with nice length of muzzle. Good front, level topline and good angulation with driving movement. Another hard decision and so unlucky to meet 1 in top form today.

So much has been said and written about this great dog that I can only agree with those comments. This dog has such a classic head, flat skull, good earset. So very well constructed and presents such a clean outline, but where he really scores so highly with me is his large dark eyes that give such a lovely expression with perhaps just a touch of mischief. He commanded the ring today with his stylish free flowing movement and such proud head carriage, and he really knows how to play to the crowd. In wonderful coat and condition and I think looking better than ever . I could not overlook himCC BOB andG4.
2 Claydon’s Ch Brymarden Montana JW
Blen with a head to die for. So pretty yet masculine with well set, well feathered ears. Nice broad foreface and such lovely dark eyes. Another very well constructed dog with good spring of rib, level topline and tailset. Oozes quality and loved his movement. A very worthy Ch.
