Dogs. Mr R Sansom
Many thanks to Manchester Dog Show for this invitation and hospitality.
Over the last year I have been quite concerned about the quality of the males and felt they were at an all time low. Why? Is it the fact that 2 dogs have been on the roll and pushing for breed records, or is it all the gossip and pointing over health problems? Whichever, it never does the breed any good.
On the plus side I was delighted with the quality in the young stock on offer today.
As my co-judge and I agreed to differ we called the Referee to choose BOB and BP, who, on both occasions gave the nod to the Dog.

Best Puppy Lamont’s Moorfields My Hero
Minor Puppy (17 Entries, 3 Absent)
1 Lamont’s Moorfields My Hero
6 mth Blen who was very raw but so full of promise, scored on size and balance, lovely head and eye, excellent neck and front, strong topline and very tidy hind quarters. Going round he had no coat so his outline was crisp with very good extension and drive with tail well set. Hope all this promise comes on. Best Puppy in Breed.
2 Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Phoenix
Another very good Blenheim of 7 mths. Again so well balanced, liked his head and large eyes, firm neck and very tidy front, topline short and strong into well shaped quarters. Well marked and in excellent coat, he projected a lovely picture.

1 Jones’ Timsar Mister Moonlighter
Blenheim of 2 yrs with lovely breed type, well shaped head and large dark eyes, just the right fill of muzzle, strong neck and very good front, legs and feet. Topline short and strong ribs so round, firm couplings and well set tail, his quarters are well shaped. In full coat and presented so well, going round he looked so the part and I have to say have never seen him or his owner look so calm. Delighted to award him his 3rd CC and crown, with the nod of the Referee BOB and into the cut in the Group. Well done.
2 Angell’s Charwelton Tate JW
Another Blenheim who pushed 1 all the way. Just loved his outline and balance, pleased in head, very good neck and front, short firm topline and very tidy quarters. Going round he looked the picture with extension and drive, put down in very good coat and condition. His lack of showmanship cost him top honours, but he will make a worthy Champion.

1 Baker’s Ch Keyingham Branwell
Quality Blenheim, lovely head and eyes, best of necks and front assembly, lovely well laid shoulders and strong topline with that well set tail. Going round he scores so well on balance. Today not with his normal handler and after a long show season felt he has lost that crisp look he normally has. However I feel nobody can take away that he has been a great ambassador for the breed.
2 Hughes’ Loranka's Enchanting JW
Quality Tricolour of lovely type and put down so well. Liked his head and super eyes, firm neck, well laid shoulders, topline is strong, hindquarters well shaped and looked so balanced, in full coat of quality. Today his front action let him down, but feel sure his 3rd CC will come.

Bitches Mrs S Hindle
I would like to thank Manchester Dog Society for inviting me to judge, I had a lovely day at an extremely well run show. I was concerned by eyes today in some of the bitches. The breed standard asks for large, dark, round eyes, not prominent. I found quite a few small eyes, and many with white showing. This spoils the overall expression.
