Dogs. Mrs L Flynn
Firstly I would like to thank the committee of the NICKCSC for inviting me to judge at their prestigious 25th Anniversary Championship Show, and for making me so very welcome. I would especially like to convey my thanks to both the Chairman Geoffrey Porter and his very hardworking secretary Kay Finlay who went way beyond the call of duty, pulling out all the stops ensuring that my luggage; which had been left sitting at the airport the previous day met me on my arrival at the show.
Refreshments and home baked scones were provided on arrival for every exhibitor, of which I am sure was appreciated by those who’d made the long arduous journey from across the water, and a beautiful Anniversary Cake and drinks was shared by all in the afternoon. A big thank you also to my steward who made my day run so smoothly. There was an excellent buffet lunch. After the show exhibitors and committee carried on the celebrations at the Country Club. Thank you to all for such a memorable weekend.
I was really delighted with my entry both numerically and in quality, and thank exhibitors for accepting my decisions graciously. My decision to withhold in Minor Puppy Dog was not made lightly, and after much deliberation I made the hard decision which gave me no pleasure to withhold significant placings and regret any embracement which may have been caused. Without wishing to damn any dog, as every dog has faults, but in my opinion there are some faults that cannot be forgiven, and to sanction those faults would encourage others to be shown which would do the breed more harm than good, but I hope my action was considered as constructive criticism. In both Limit Dog and Bitch were the strongest classes of the day and quality was in abundance; I just wish there were more cards to be given.

1 Gilhespy’s Lorphil Lucianna
I haven’t seen this little girl for some years, and although sired by my own dog my opinions of her are still the same today, I liked her then, and I like her now. Pretty face, with lovely large round eyes and the darkest of nose pigment. Nice size, lovely make and shape of correct proportions, good rear angulation and moved with drive.
2 Deddis’ Corrichie Rosebud
Beautiful Tri in super condition for age, she didn’t like the table, but it could not take away from her overall construction.

Small neat Blen boy of ten months. Good proportions. Pretty head with nice large dark round eyes, good pigment with moderate length of neck flowing into well placed shoulders. BPD
2 Lovel’s Lovetrac Billyo
Pretty Blen dog, nice dark round eyes, nicely filled under. Good neck and shoulder placement with good forechest. Level topline. I would have preferred a little less slope on the croup, but nevertheless a nice dog.
3 Smith’s Beaudale Hearts on Fire
Junior
1 Vella’s Cinderlace Cromwell
Beautiful Blen dog, although heavier marked, lots to like about this young boy, seeing many of his illustrious sire’s qualities shinning through, and I am sure he’ll have a bright future. Ideal size, with the loveliest of expressions, dark eyes and nose pigment, well cushioned muzzle. Good neck and shoulders, good depth of forechest with level topline. Correct tailset and carriage. Moved and showed well, considered for top honours.
2 Li’s Avalcier Nemesis
Well broken Blen boy nicely made with good length of neck and well placed shoulders, carrying a level topline standing and on the move.

1 MacAlpine’s Blairburn Bracken with Annatika
Well marked Blen dog with the much desired lozenge. Lovely expression, with large dark eyes and enough cushioning on muzzle for age. Lovely make and shape with nicely angulated hindquarters. Moved and showed well and once matures will make a lovely dog.

1 Hubbard’s Popolulu Dazzling Dempster JW ShCM
Although this Blen boy for me is upto size, he cannot be denied his place on his conformation.  Nice head, would like a slightly darker eye, well cushioned under. Good neck and shoulders, with level topline. Good bone and rear angulations. Moved well.
2 Grant’s Granasil Dr Pepper
Lovely rich coloured Ruby boy, who unfortunately today did not make the most of himself, and I just wished he’d projected himself more. Small and compact with a beautiful head and expression.
Post Graduate
1 Smith’s Beaudale Fields of Gold
I admired this glamorous boy as soon as he walked into the ring, and wasn’t disappointed when going over him on the table. A real toy spaniel with a richly coloured coat of lovely silky texture.  Large dark round eyes with plenty of cushioning with a gentle soft expression framed by beautiful long ear fringes. Lovely make and shape, holding a level topline standing and on the move. Showed well to gain a very worthy Res. CC.
2 Mowatt’s Asmena The Minstral
Nicely marked Blen. Nice head, with good pigment. Good neck and shoulders, although lost his topline  a little when moving, but a nice dog.

1 Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Jamie
For me this little boy typifies toy spaniel. Beautifully presented and very glamorous, with large dark eyes, and the darkest of pigment, long ear fringes framing a beautiful face. Ideal for size, and just loved his make and shape, he carried a spirit level topline standing and on the move, with the correct tail set and carrying his tail level with his back. Projecting himself well,  carrying his head high and moving out with style and panache.  He could not be denied top hours today and I was delighted to award him his 3rd CC and Best in Show.  A very worthy Champion.
2 Rix & Berry’s Ricksbury Royal Valour JW
Another beautiful boy unfortunate to meet winner of this class. Lovely head with large round dark eyes, and pigment. Good construction as one has come to expect from this kennel. Moved and showed well, I’m sure his day will come.

1 Bailies’ Fynrose Mrs Tiggy Winkle
Prettiest Blen bitch, carrying a beautiful silky coat for such a young baby. Lovely large dark eyes, and pigment and  a sweet expression, nice neck and shoulders with level topline and tailset moved with exuberance and drive. Such a pity that owners were unable to stay dictated by a change of schedule of ferry operators.
2 Gillhespy’s Lorphil Lady Angela
Next to 1 this little girl looked so immature, but I could not deny her this placing, with lots to like and should make a very nice little girl once she matures. My notes say “so very naughty, but oh so very nice” at only six months she was really enjoying her day out.
3 Pagan’s Sorata Peprika

1 Towse’s Bonitos Companeros Viva la Diva

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this young lady before. Such a worthy champion, and I was delighted to have the opportunity to go over such a lovely girl. There are no exaggerations, beautiful head, lovely large dark eyes, good rich tan, and that lovely raven black coat of good clarity. Moved with style and showed well.
2 Rix & Berry’s Ricksbury Royal Empress
Blen bitch, another from this kennel straight from the top draw.  I really liked her and so unfortunate to meet 1 in this class. I am sure her day will come soon. Such a nice make and shape, pretty head, with large round dark eyes, framed by beautiful long ear fringes. One to be very proud of.
