Dogs. Mrs C Li (Avalcier)
Thank you to the committee, exhibitors and stewards who made this day a very memorable one for me. I was privileged to have been able to judge some quality cavaliers. I was impressed with the overall presentation and cleanliness of the exhibits but slightly disappointed with the bites on some of the youngsters. I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as I did.

Minor Puppy (5 Entries 1 Absent)
1 Greenall’s Charlesworth Royal Showbiz
A promising chunky baby of 6 months at his first show. A well marked blen with huge dark eyes and appealing head. Did not disappoint on the table with good angles all round. Promise of a thick coat. Was a little reluctant to move at first but once settled, moved well and had an outgoing attitude. Just needs to firm up but a close decision for further honours.

Res Ace’s Ashtelle Antonio
Puppy (3, 0)
1 Coaker’s Homerbrent Branscombe
An elegant blen puppy of 10 months. Correct dentition, richly coloured coat of good texture, firm body, nice length of neck and short coupled. Moved with purpose around the ring with excellent tail carriage. Clinched BPD with his showmanship.
2 Coles’ Twyforde Oberon
Another blen of a good size, shape and make. Excellent pigment, nice bone but not the glamorous coat or condition of the winner today.
3 Walton’s Underknoll Cliché
Junior (2, 0)
1 Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Prince of Thieves
A statute boy of 15 months with good posture and eye catching profile. Well spaced eyes to die for on this heavily marked blenheim. Full headed with a kind expression and good nose pigment. Super presentation, covered ground well and was a contender for further honours.
2 Stevens’ Kilnshena Ich Liebe Dich
A blen with a nice shaped head, straight coat of a finer texture. A typical junior giving his handler a hard time, carrying his tail a little higher on the move and not as firm in body. Nevertheless a nice type.
Maiden (4, 0)
1 Greenall’s Charlesworth Royal Emperor
Nicely marked blen. Pleasing head with long ear featherings. Could have used his ears better. Well bodied, good bone for size, and straight coat of good colour. Good strong front movement with level back and tail. Won the class on maturity.

Novice (4, 1)
1 Dowd’s Tregarron Realta
Having been unluckily placed 2nd in both Minor Puppy and Maiden, this attractive black and tan heads the class. Although slightly longer in the muzzle, there is potential for more cushioning as he is only 7 months. Neat firm body, nice size and good hind quarters. Moved positively for one so young but just needs to tighten up on the front.
2 Newell’s Corbieanne Misty Storm
4 year old tri with a narrower blaze. Happy boy with a decent coat, long ear featherings and a classic head. Parallel mover to and fro with correct tail carriage.
3 Pack-Davison’s Deranmar Caerleon at Verileas
Graduate (3, 1)
1 Coaker’s Homerbrent Marshall
A fresh and striking boy of 15 months. Heavily marked blen with beautifully presented gleaming coat of the richest colour. Huge eyes, first class pigment, pleasing expression and high ear placement. His head has room for maturity. Well made, lovely size, correct shoulder placement and good angles all round. His elegant movement is his forte with excellent tail carriage. Won RBD with his spirit level topline and outgoing ‘look at me’ attitude.
2 Morgan’s Sohanastar's Pure Fantasy
18 month old shapely ruby, longer cast unlucky to meet winner. Good eyes, reachy neck with long ear featherings. Attentive at all times. Move well but could not match winner’s topline and tail carriage.
Post Graduate (3, 1)
1 Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Stagehand
A quality 20 month old blen typifying a toy spaniel. Even head markings accentuate his large dark eyes. A handsome head due to his well cushioned and plush face. Good angles front and back with curves in all the right places. Body still has room for maturity. Well marked with an abundance of richly coloured coat. Moved with presence and excellent head carriage. Splendid breed type and ideal size within the standard. He appealed to me so much that I had no hesitation in awarding him RBIS.
2 Jones’ Caedrenant Griffin

Special Limit B/T or Ruby (2, 1)
1 Jones’ Caedrenant Griffin
2nd to winner of previous class. An upstanding 2.5 year old ruby with a lovely reach of neck, firm in body, excellent coat condition, pleasing masculine expression. Well schooled and attentive. Strong front presenting good reach on the move.
Special Limt Blen or Tri (4, 4) None present.
Open (8, 0)
1 Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Vaudeville
A nearly 2 year old blen winner of a good class. Well broken shapely dog with good neck and shoulders. Well made, firm body with nice round bone and lovely to go over on the table. Well coated with excellent length of coat. An attractive masculine head with well filled muzzle and eyes well spaced. A pleasing outline on the stand and on the move.
2 Lewis’ Leelyn Bumble for Carleeto
A black and tan that I have judged before and matured into a handsome boy. He still retains his well finished foreface with large eyes without being overdone. Would prefer a shade darker tan all round. Firm body with good coat. A happy attentive boy who moved with drive. A nice type.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (2, 1)
1 Coles’ Twyforde Gemini
A well marked tri bitch just into Veteran. Classic headed, rich tan on face but lacking in ear featherings. Firm well ribbed body, would prefer a longer neck. Moved happily, clearly enjoying her day out. BV.

2 Holbrook’s Vonnyisle Chaos
Silky coated typey black and tan girl with a charming head and rich tan. Good size, correct shoulders and nice reach of neck. Move well with strong hind movement. A generally happy girl but could have been a bit more animated at times.

Stood out in class. 11 month old blen with an endearing expression framed with full ears. Large eyes and well filled muzzle. Correct size, furnished with long silky well marked coat. Good neck and shoulders, firm body with well filled ribs and depth of chest. Attentive to her handler and offered an attractive profile on the stand. Moved well with a marvellous top line and tail carriage. BPIS.
2 Coole’s Jolainey Taylor Made
Sister to winner of minor puppy class. Another pretty blenheim girl with great pigment and eyes. Well constructed body, nice round bone, good turn of stifle, neat feet and short pasterns. Moved effortlessly round the ring.

1 Ireland’s Charnell Frolic
Blenheim girl of 15 months. Pretty with large eyes and good teeth. Shapely sound body with markings accentuating neck. Strong forequarters, depth of chest and well muscled rear. Showed beautifully, moved steadily with good pace round the ring. Won on maturity and a balanced profile. RBB.
2 Smith’s Marhouse Island Girl at Sapphireisle
Nice sized Blenheim of 17 months. Smaller and finer than winner. Pleasing head with long ear featherings. Rich tan and well turned stifles. Delightful temperament.
3 Dowd’s Tregarron Dixie Melody
Maiden (7, 2)
1 Holbrook’s Vonnyisle Dream Come True
Still a puppy at 11 months, this slight bodied ruby is pretty with black nose pigment and large eyes. A nice type with a good shape, firm topline. Just needs to mature. Showed and moved well.
2 Greenall’s Charlesworth Royal Capri
A blen of 20 months with a pleasing head and tapered muzzle, well off for body and a thick coat. Moved with good drive, kept topline and tail set. A nice honest bitch.

1 Walton’s Belstonbell Jessica with Underknoll
A cobby compact well marked tri with a wide white collar that emphasises her neck. Feminine head with appealing large eyes. Sound body, plenty of chest room, a little wider in the front. Moved more positively than 2nd.
2 Holbrook’s Champneys Electra at Vonnyisle
A pretty blen with excellent reach of neck and shoulders, good turn of stifle, a little longer cast. Needs to tighten up on topline. Covered ground well but at only 9 months has time on her side but lost out to a more mature bitch.

1 Coole’s Jolainey Tiger Lily
Well broken blen bitch. A pleasing head and shape with good bone. Firm body, good front and back angulations. Strode out and was best mover in the class.
2 Lewis’ Carleeto Dixie Belle
A richly coloured ruby with signs of a good quality coat. Expressive eyes, correct teeth. A little rangier on the legs and less mature than winner. Wonderful temperament and moved round the ring happily.
3 Smith’s Marhouse Island Girl at Sapphireisle

1 Conneally’s Coedgwylum Hot Flame
A beautifully turned out blen bitch who commanded the ring. Unexaggerated in any way, she had gorgeous eyes and just the right amount of fill in her muzzle. Fabulously full, well placed ears framing her face give her the picture perfect cavalier expression. An ideal size, well constructed and moved with precision. Her heavier marked coat was gleaming. She never stopped showing and in the challenge she won on her overall balance, poise and excellent topline on the move. She was eye candy to me and a very special girl. BIS.

1 Boundy’s Rubyfield Fidget
Quality black and tan with the sweetest of expression. Good tan on face and body. Well made package, lovely crest of neck and good bone for size. Excellent sound mover but would prefer a better tail carriage.
Special Limt Blen or Tri (4, 1)
1 Smith & Rance’s Wightisle Twist of Magic
2nd in Postgraduate. Unlucky to meet winner in previous class. One of the best heads I have seen on a tri, lovely shaped head, correct ear placement and gentle expression. Loved her size, compact and neat body with angles. Wonderfully textured, heavily marked coat but with enough white to accentuate the neck and a splash on the back. Beautifully presented. Could have just held her head a little higher on the move.
2 Dowd’s Tregarron Bossanova Baby
Another tri of 17 months. Pleasing expression with good tan on face. Good shape, firm in body, nicely marked and well coated. Would prefer a better tail set but moved soundly. A nice honest girl.
3 Marshall & Barnett’s Criscan Impudence at Oxencombe
Open (8, 2)
1 Coole’s Jolainey Miss Millie
This kennel’s bitches will bode it well for the future. Mother of the winner of minor puppy, this girl is not in full coat. Nevertheless, she had enough which was well marked, of good quality and immense clarity. A pretty bitch with good pigment and nice eyes. A different type to the second and it made it a difficult decision but she won on her sound movement and presence.
2 Martins, Jones & Player’s Rhybank Billie Jo
An ultra feminine blen girl of 4 years who had such appealing eyes and expression. She has a wonderful elegant neck, beautiful flowing long straight coat with a well ribbed body underneath. Moved gracefully and showed well.
