Mrs J Barraclough |
| Cavalier judging today became more like The World Show with entries from Germany and Finland as well as the UK. Some of the crowd of onlookers were also long distant travellers from the USA and Australia. They had extended their stay after visiting the big extravaganza at Blenheim Palace arranged by the CKCS Club the weekend before. As usual we had the largest toy entry in the show and a ring which would not have accommodated half the entry. I did show concern about the ground and asked about a bigger ring but was told there was none available. Thank you to many exhibitors and spectators who also made their comments known to the show organisers which did make a real score, the result being we were offered a much larger ring, the offside being it was not under cover. It was breezy but this kept the rain clouds away and for most of the time the sun shone. My apologies to the first four classes who had to endure the small ring and the flapping of the tent which did unsettle the dogs. |

Blen baby, lovely size and shape. Real puppy expression, full of devilment. Large dark eyes and good pigment. Coat still in the fluffy stage but starting to behave. Rich markings. Good neck and shoulder placement, level top line and correct tail carriage on the move. Did not let the flapping tent bother him. A real little smasher and one to look out for in the future. BPD. |

The wind really got up in this class and unsettled all the youngsters. They were all winners if judged by the way they tried to cope with the noise. |

This little fella’s name suited him by the way he tried to cope with the noise and ring. Lovely head, darkest of eyes and pigment. Excellent construction and movement. Good coat and one of the richest colours here today. Another winner which I am sure he get another day but had to settle for second today. |

Good quality blen dog. Beautiful head, large dark eyes and excellent pigment. Good reach of neck set into correct shoulder placement. Nice short body, good angulation. Level top line and good tail carriage which he kept on the move. Movement OK but he was unsettled today. No doubt he will swap places with the winner on different ground. |

Travelled a long way from Finland to show his qualities. Beautiful ruby dog, one of the nicest I have seen for a long time. Still very much a youngster but his slower development will make him last all the longer when the others have faded. Beautiful head, really large dark eyes and black pigment adding to that gentle cavalier expression. Ample coat in good condition and a rich colour. Movement spot on today and he was not ruffled by the noise. Good construction. No doubt we will hear more about him in the future. He stood alone today but deserved every bit of his first place. |

This little man took the limelight in this class. The overall package was complemented by the sunshine and the green grass. He looked a stunner and he was a pleasure to go over. Correct in every way from his beautiful head with the gentlest expression to the last hair on his tail. His long coat took off in the wind as he moved around giving an illusion of floating. I am sure he and his handler never touched the ground. RCC and I am certain the big cards will not be long in following. |

I thought the dogs could not get any better until this one entered the ring. He caught my eye from the very start. Flowing coat and such a rich colour. He held his head erect all the times and demanded the attention which he duly got. Stunning head, his large dark eyes with that melting look, blackest pigment and OH that lovely expression. His neck arched nicely into a correct shoulder placement and continued to give him that level top line and the correct tail carriage. Another one that flowed around the ring showing himself off to his best advantage. I know it was windy but the space and the sunshine brought out the best in him. A truly lovely dog. CC, his first and BOB. I am certain he will not sit on the bench for very long before the next 2 tickets come along. |

Blen, put down in perfect condition. More masculine head than 1 but still with a gentle expression. Lovely large dark eyes and good pigment. Lighter marked and his tan really stood out amongst the white. Excellent on the move keeping his top line level and showing a correct tail set and carriage. A beautiful dog but not enough red cards to go around today. |

Perfect top line and tail both while standing and on the move. |

Aptly named. This breeder keeps making top drawer dogs which I found behind a lot of the high placed exhibits today. You had better believe it. What a super little dog to go over. Everything correct and in its place. No wonder he is a champion. Beautiful head. Excellent shape and size. Coat in perfect condition. Every part of this little boy is sound and I could not fault him. I have admired him from the ring side and was not disappointed when I finally got my hands on him. A credit to his breeder and owner. Half brother to my DC and RDCC having the same sire, so you can say ‘Keeping it in the family.’ |

Another deserving champion and again there were not enough red cards to give out. |

Pride Gentle Star [Atc Al00593deu] When I saw her enter the ring, this little girl knocked me speechless. All the way from Germany with an English sire and German mother, shows we must be doing something right. Perfection personified right from her jet black nose to the end of her tail. She oozes quality. Prettiest of heads and that expression to die for. Correct proportions, neck and shoulders, turn of stifle good. In first class condition, coat gleaming and she floated on the move, streamline all the way around, keeping her head held high and demanding people to look at her. She certainly caught my attention. If she stays in this county for any length of time I am convinced she will make the top spot. Delighted to award her the CC, BPB and BP, just missing out on BOB, the dog being that little more mature. |

Jordanic Luna We have some first class young Cavaliers all heading for top spots and this little girl is one of them. Tri, with gorgeous tan in the right places. Delightful head and expression, dark eyes and good pigment. Heavily marked, but her other good points more than make up for this. Compact body, with everything in the right proportions and working. Free flowing movement keeping her top line and tail level both on the move and while standing. A happy little showgirl. RCC. |
