Dogs Mrs H Edwards
I would like to say thank you to the Officers & Committee of the Humberside Club for inviting me to judge dogs at their very friendly Championship show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Also a big thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over their dogs. Some owners need to watch their dogs being moved from behind, as there were a few to close, but I found the quality on the whole to be good which bears well for the future of the breed.

Bitches Mrs H Wheeler
I wish to convey to the Officers and Committee a special ‘Thank You’ for the invitation to judge the show and your kind hospitality. Also, to thank all the exhibitors who entered their bitches, all 200 of them. (48 were absent and 6 withdrawn). It is six years since I judged the bitches and I found a big change in types. Heads are changing, noses should be 1½ inches, not shorter with too much cushioning. Necks are becoming shorter and the once much admired crest has disappeared! I found quite a few shoulders too high up in the neck. Please read the Breed Standard and assess your cavalier as to whether you may have a problem here. Bitches should not be mated to dogs with these faults. It is so easy to change the Breed Standard and once gone, it is gone forever. Please remember we are the custodians of this lovely breed. If bitches are mated to dogs and the faults are perpetuated the breed will change to the type seen before 1947. Health problems will arise if a dog is not made right. The structure of the body must be well balanced in profile. My best wishes to you all and please think about what is happening.
