Dogs Mrs R Banks (Choya)
Firstly let me say thank you to the exhibitors for the tremendous entry a real privilege for me. Huge thanks to my very competent stewards Heather and Roger who kept things running smoothly enabling me to get through the large entry in good time. It is some time since I was around the Cavalier rings and I have deliberately not followed judging so the dogs were all new to me since I last judged. Quality in some respects has improved however in my opinion there is still too many short legged long backed dogs around and this does not give the desired balance. The large round dark eyes were the exception rather than the norm. On a positive note the dogs all seemed much sounder than last time I judged mouths on the whole were good and temperaments just what you would expect of a toy spaniel.

2nd Rix & Berry’s Ricksbury Poldark

VHC Hughes’ Loranka’s Moonlight Shadow
Puppy (16, 6)
1st Etheridge’s Shelpet Vanilla Ice at Diddlidors
Blen, 12 mths, coat well broken large round eyes with melting expression, muzzle still needs to cushion as would be expected at this age moved soundly and with purpose.
2nd Koster’s Harana Dean Martin
B/T 10mth shown in fabulous condition his coat gleamed, at this stage not as together as 1 but given time will surely be an asset to this kennel and the breed.

1st Hegarty’s Chantismere Conquistador
Tri Colour 15 mths old, my notes read WOW, stunning boy beautiful coat well broken and in tip top condition correct head with well tapered muzzle and large round dark eyes with the richest of tan markings giving wonderful expression. Head framed by well set and long ears Well balanced and moved with drive and positivity was so close up for the CC just needs to fully mature and surely if there is any justice will make a worthy champion RCC today, wish he were mine.
2nd Davies’ Salegreen Brecon
Blen who impressed me, lovely head short coupled body, moved freely and soundly but was up against it today.

Yearling (5, 0)
1st Waddington’s Spindlepoint President JW
Blen of nice size and shape, pretty but masculine head with good eyes, moved smartly keeping a level topline, nice straight silky coat would just have preferred a richer colour but again a very promising prospect.
2nd Bloomfield & Edwards’ Delhaze Skyfall with Oaklake
Blen, nice sized dog with amazing eyes and well broken coat he is a lovely shape with beautiful coat and moved with drive shame he was a little upset about something which really let him down in a later class.

See puppy dog
2nd Fox-Shone’s Tamyse Theo avec Pamedna
Blen built on bigger lines, pretty head with large dark eyes giving a melting expression, difficult to assess on the move as his huge coat gives the impression of a roached back when that settles will look a different dog. Hope his colour darkens.

1st Cunningham’s Verheyen Anton
Richly marked bl with well broken coat, of a smaller size than some of the males today but in my opinion the correct size. Large round dark eyes giving the true cavalier expression shown to perfection and never stopped wagging his tail, a dog for the future.
2nd Hutchin’s Frondil’s Office Ed
Free moving dog of good make and shape another with lovely eyes moved and shown to advantage perhaps a little more work on coat to complete the picture.

1st Wileman & Bott’s Ellemich Konstantino of Narvidar
I found this a difficult class to judge no two were the same type this boy had the neck and shoulders which gave him his clean elegant outline okay on the move.
2nd Bloice’s Scotlass Power Of Love JW ShCM
This boy was smaller and more the style I was looking for but just not as positive on the move as 1.
3rd Firth & Sloan’s Turretbank Super Trooper
Res Nichol’s Chantismere Chamberlin
Limit (8, 0)
1st Inglis’ Craigowl Out Of Reach JW
Delightful blen boy and of good make and shape, super eyes and the blackest of noses, good neck and shoulders giving way to a good topline which he held perfectly on the move. Would have perfected the picture with a little more animation. Another who will surely gain his crown.
2nd Mangham’s Castlewytch Perfection of Charnavale JW
This was such a good class, Tri boy a little bigger than 1st but with so many similar attributes. Richest of tan in all the right places a very worthy second.
3rd Godwin’s Cavaliegh Ice Man JW
Res Evans’ Evansly Earnest
VHC Edwards’ Delhaze Take A Chance
Open (10, 4) Really good class and came down to nit picking and preference on the day.
1st Hughes’ Ch Loranka’s Heavenly Moment
A completely unknown dog to me but my eventual CC winner a Tri Colour dog well within standard size, lovely head and expression with richest of tan markings, short coupled with a level topline and well set tail which he carried correctly at all times this boy came into his own on the move he absolutely floated around the ring with drive and reach and so sound I could have watched him go all day. Yes I would prefer his coat to be a little better broken but this in no way detracted from his qualities a pleasure to judge him today and giving that my RCC is his grandson obviously a useful sire as well.
2nd Towse & Cortes’ Am & AKC Ch Miletree Joshua
Another lovely blen dog in tip top condition presented to perfection moved and shown to make the most of him so close for RCC.

Minor Puppy (12 Entries, 4 Absent) A class of babies all at different stages of development and many will change places going forwards and they grow.
1st Fox-Shone’s Pamedna Charisma
This blen baby caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring she is such a rich colour reminded me of the Ronnoc dogs of yesteryears, good size with everything in the right place head needs time as you would expect at this stage of development but is so sound for one so young she should have a bright future my BP on the day.
2nd Surman’s Harana Siouxie Sioux
B/T baby a real poppet very pretty with everything going for her just not as mature or positive on the move as 1 but given time will prove to be a useful bitch.

Super Tri bich of 15 mths old so sound, true cavalier with the correct head, tapered muzzle with good cushioning coming large round dark eyes, Absolutely balanced correct length of leg to length of back stood square holding her topline and tailset at all times was so close for RCC just felt she needs a little more time to mature but with the right luck should go all the way, another I would have taken home with me.
2nd Fox-Shone’s Pamedna Cherie Amour
Rich ruby built on smaller lines than 1 another very promising youngster who was unfortunate to meet 1 in such good form. Pretty head with correct eyes another who carried herself so well on the move should have a lot of fun with this bitch.

Good neck and shoulders leading to level topline which she held on the move. My notes said surely a Champion in the making I was later told she already is had to give way to maturity today and settle for the RCC.

Loved this blen girl coat so well broken and in such fabulous condition, pretty head with correct eyes and dark pigment was so attentive to her handler and moved cleanly with drive and positivity around the ring, really liked her.
2nd Inglis’ Craigowl Keep In Touch
Another blen of such quality it really was splitting hairs in this class, 2 quite different types but so much to like about both of them on the day just thought 1 held her topline and tail better on the move but I’m sure will change places many times.
3rd King-Smith’s Ispahan Blue Bunting
Res Owen’s Hansowens Ebony Star
VHC Wimberley & Newman’s Finjaro Celestial with Trishine
Open (7, 1) My notes say wow, thrilled with this class had everything I was looking for the big guns were truly out and could have done with at least 5 firsts really had to work at this class.
1st Sansom’s Ch Byermoor Princess
A blen girl I have not seen before on first glance as she came in the ring I thought she may be a little too extreme for me but once I got hands on I took it all back she is fabulous. True cavalier from head to foot. She had the largest of round dark eyes I saw on the day, the correct tapered muzzle with adequate cushioning giving the true expression all framed with the well set ears with the longest fringes. Her neck flows into a level topline and correct tailset which she held at all times. She is not an extravagant mover but she is so sound and at one with her owner the more I looked at her the more she screamed cavalier at me and in the end I could not deny her the CC and eventually BOB. Thank you for bringing her I loved her.
2nd Koster’s Ch Harana Kiki Dee
