Dogs Mrs B Evans (Svena)
Thank you so much for the committee for inviting me to judge this show and for the generous gift. We didn’t get into the ring until 3.30pm and my judging took 4 hours in total, I like to be thorough, thus making it a very long day for everyone involved. A lovely entry numerically, very few absentees. Some classes were brimming with quality.
It is in my opinion, a judges responsibility to ensure the breed standard is adhered too. Wearing rose colour spectacles is not constructive. I don’t fault judge per se: however, the most common ones were, coat quality, walking puff balls this breed is not. A lot of particolours are showing white in the right eye, giving the most odd expression, is this a family trait? Rear construction, was a deal breaker in a number of classes – where’s the drive, where’s the propulsion, narrow pelvis’s are causing a lot of mincing!!!

BIS. Wow, so delighted to have the opportunity to go over this dog. Presented and put down to perfection. My notes say outstanding and he is. Well broken blenheim with plenty of fine, silky coat yet still showing the dog underneath. Lovely head, soft gentle, dark eye, correct bite, beautiful length and crest to neck, superb shoulder placement, short coupled, nicely angulated rear and correct tail set. Gorgeous on the move, dead level topline. Stunning exhibit everything a Cavalier should be. One to covet.

BVIS an 8 year old ruby bitch an old favourite of mine. Lovely headpiece now showing time with flecks of grey, lovely dark eye and glorious pigment. Rich chestnut coat. She’s just so well made. Lovely crest to her neck well laid back shoulders, and nicely angulated rear. Moved like a youngster, so sound, so precise. A bitch I feel hasn’t been given the credit she deserves during her career.
