Dogs. Mr F Yeoh (Yeosinga) I accepted the Club’s invitation to judge with an acute awareness of the privilege extended to me. An excellent entry, both in terms of quality and quantity, awaited me and for this, I am grateful to the exhibitors for their trust as - with the current fashion - judges do not have the opportunities to judge a satisfactory entry at general open shows. It is sadly a catch22 situation for aspiring championship show judges and without proper experience and exposure they will not achieve the level of competence that is required at championship shows. It is heartening to handle so many excellent puppies in the hotly contested classes and it required careful evaluation as was the case for a few of the higher classes. The pleasure of judging was greatly enhanced by the fact that so many established breeders and exhibitors were present providing me with a depth of quality that tests my judging ability to the fullest - it gave me great pleasure and satisfaction. Having judged the breed from 1984 and over the years studying the breed closely, it became evident from this representative entry that breeders have eradicated many undesirable features. This is convincingly evident in today’s entry. Exaggeration in the shape of head, particularly in the solid colours, is no longer prevalent. Size is now more stabilised with a narrower variation in weight with a negligible number at the top range. The solid colours are competing strongly with the Blenheims. Coat presentation is excellent throughout. A minor worry is that a few exhibits that scored well in all other features ruined their chances through possessing smallish untypical eyes - large round eyes are essential as they contribute to the soft and gentle expression so necessary to establish type. My deep felt appreciation to committee members and officials for the warm hospitality and the exhibitors for making it such an enjoyable and rewarding day. The venue is ideal, the weather perfect with the sun blazing down on us only occasionally and it was dry. The huge collection of caravans added to the festive atmosphere. Congratulations are due to everyone who made it a special day. Buckeye Brave Veteran (1, 1)   Spec Post Grad Tri or Blen (16, 5)   1st Inglis’ Craigowl Coaster Tri, RBD, another from the top drawer, scores in head features, typical expression complemented by large round eyes, silky coat presented in superb condition, good forequarters and turn of stifle, moves true both ways. 2nd Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Prince Of Thieves Blen. that has typical head features, well presented coat of correct texture and good markings, balanced outline, moves well and shows with style and elegance. 3rd Brewer & Moody’s Bowfort Tomkin Res Rhodes’ Cinderlace Monte for Calonlan VHC Sidgwick’s Paulian Kittihawk JW Spec Post Grad B/T or Ruby (12, 4)   1st Name Withheld Name Withheld A quality ruby with typical head features and correct expression, moves very well and with elegance, balanced with good make and shape, another with a great future. 2nd Pagan’s Russmic Reggae Music at Sorata B/T with a typical head and expression that is enhanced by large round eyes, pleasing outline, moves and shows with style. 3rd Jones’ Kenocto Magical Quest Res Koster’s Harana Michael Buble VHC Gardiner & Dansage’s Edonhill Fiddlesticks Limit (11, 2)   1st Craig’s Aldachell Rhidian Excelled in head features and typical soft expression, very good make and shape, correct silky coat beautifully presented, balanced, moves well with correct tail carriage, one that was considered in the lineup for best dog. 2nd Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Vaudeville Blen. scores in head and expression, make and shape, moves and shows true and with style, not as pleasing in coat markings movement and a level topline, good make and shape, super temperament, markings may not please some but her overall outline is excellent, a great personality that is hard to overlook. 2nd Taylor’s Kemble Charisma B/T, RBB, could not be denied the award as she ticked all the boxes, excelling in expression, good body shape with correct spring of ribs, evident quality and temperament and, moving with conviction and elegance. 3rd Phillips’ Droleus Sheez Just Cruuzin at Tillymist Res Claydon’s Brymarden Moonmagic JW VHC Williams’ Clentview Miss Dior Sancana JW ShCM Open (6, 2)   1st Hogan’s Ricksbury Royal Promise for Stavonga Blen. that scores in head features and expression, lovely silky coat with good markings, balanced outline, correct body shape with good spring of rib, moves true and one that I included in the last three for Best Bitch. 2nd Craig’s Aldachell Sophisticated Blen. lovely soft expression, good silky coat with pleasing markings, correct make and shape presenting a
