Dogs Mr A Wight (Sharval)
What a shame that this quite stunning showground was not seen at its best, as the weather was quite foul, wet, windy & cold. Despite having a wonderful inside/outside ring as smooth as a bowling green, we were confined to the smaller inside area where it was at least dry!
Negative points I noticed were the number of incorrect bites that I saw – definitely undershot & although I was assured by more than one exhibitor that "it will come right" my attitude is that if that is the case, then don’t show until it is right! Also, I feel that size is increasing & the look of a toy spaniel becomes less evident with size & bulk. Finally, it was interesting to see the progeny of one particular dog who did very well under me. He is called Maibee Perfect Touch of Charnavale & he sired the winners of MPB (she was also BP), YB, PGB & LB.

Minor Puppy (5 Entries 1 Absent)
1st Biddle’s Hearthfriend Bah Humbug
A good start to the day with this very sweet headed tri which was in immaculate bloom. Loved his size & balance, enough neck, really well ribbed & so very positive on the move. Just needs to calm down a little & be a shade less proud of his tall but I put it down to a teenager showing off.
2nd Rhodes’ Calonlan Corona
This well broken blen scores in head balance, good flat skull, high set ears & those lovely expressive eyes. He has decent angulation both ends, his back is level & he is well muscled. Stands a trifle long in loin so looks less short coupled than the winner. He too is at that exuberant stage on the move & takes turns of prancing in front. But he has charm.

2nd Holbrook’s Vonnyisle Life Of Riley
A very responsive showman with a well balanced head, flat skull, ample stop, very good muzzle & round, dark eyes. He has a very useful reach of neck with good head carriage & a degree of interest & attitude. Plays up a bit on the move, losing his topline & not really driving from the hock so stepping short. His coat was in beautiful condition.
Junior (8, 2)
1st Hughes’ Loranka’s Heavenly Moments
A tri of lovely size & in super coat. He is quite compact. Lovely ribbing excellent head type, flattish skull, good size dark & such expressive eyes aided by high set, long ear leathers to complete the picture. His outline on the stack will appeal & his side action is balanced. Just needs to tighten in hock.
2nd Wightman’s Ellemich Kenzo at Kailyflee
Another blen & he is a delight to handle on the table. His head is quite beautiful, super expression & well weighted muzzle. Sufficient neck, well ribbed & they carry well back to a short loin. He was in excellent coat but threw his chances away on the move as his hocks were not firm enough & he was playing up when fore viewed. Won this place on his sheer quality on the stack.

1st Bubb’s Wandris Evan ‘Elp Us JW
Correct sized blen of really good make & shape. He has style, excellent head carriage on a decent neck, level back, well ribbed, clean croup line & such good bend of stifle. His head handles so well, flat skulled, well filled muzzle, good mouth & large, bright & alive eyes. In good coat he outmoved the rest of this class & I’m sure his future is bright.
2nd Surman’s Cavaliegh Angelo
Another of the number I judged which had bags of appeal & then disappointed on the move – with him it was a weakness in hock. I did like him a lot but he is not as outgoing as I like the breed to be & he was more the shrinking violet who despite his good looks would prefer to be at home. His head can only be liked, it is balanced, shaped & has an air of quality. He is well ribbed, well presented in coat, but his heart just was not in it.

What a stylish & utterly charming b/t this chap is. Nice head, super size & substance for a male, eye-catching outline, lovely shoulder assembly with equally good bend of stifle & well set tail. Coat spotless & shining & was easily the best mover here with lots of drive & purpose.
2nd Hedger’s Khatibi Peter Bread for Alrewic
Such a compact & very happy tri whose tail carriage spoils an otherwise attractive picture. His head is well balanced but I would like his skull to be flatter. Nice eyes, good mouth & muzzle, high set ears, gleaming coat & he strode out with an active side action.

1st Coles’ Twyforde Adonis
A most attractive tri. He is the size I like, is quite substantial in ribbing, has good angles both ends & acquits himself so well on the move, with a lovely tail carriage. He has such a sweet expression from quite beautiful eyes, was in really good coat & he is a real showman. I liked him.
2nd Hughes’ Loranka’s Moonshine
For me this blen was just a shade bigger all through. He has a very good head, flattest of skulls, well shaped eyes & good ears. His neck is sufficient, the backline level & his croup is good. Could not match the positive rear action of Adonis as they move around the ring.

1st Levy, Sedgwick, Cline & Puenchalard’s Pascavale Jacob
I fell for the exquisite head of this immaculate coated & presented blen. His eyes are just beautiful, large without being bulbous, dark in colour, so expressive & aided by high set, long ear leathers which frame his face so well. The head is correctly balanced, such a good muzzle & nose. Decent neck, fairly compact in body with a good croup & tailset. His side action shows ample reach & drive & his presentation was flawless. I believe his second CC & I expect to learn that he gets that third CC without too much delay. He looks like a titleholder. CC
2nd Godwin’s Cavaliegh Jacob
I doubt there was a better conditioned & coated dog on view, a huge credit to his owner. I loved his head, quite copybook, great expression, presents a magnetic outline on the stack & he is such a sound moving, bright & alive chap on the go around. I just edged the RCC winner ahead of him as I would like him a shade shorter coupled, but a very stylish fellow who should attain his crown.

Blen of obvious quality. Delightful head, excellent expression, so well constructed, super front, ample spring in rib, strong loin, loved his hindquarters & firm, straight hocks. He really can motor around the ring, not exaggerated a la GSD, but smooth, positive & purposeful. He was presented in really lovely coat condition & what a responsive showman. RCC
2nd Hughes’ Stonepit Heaven Sent to Loranka
Another blen & again a dog of obvious quality. Lovely to go over on the table, beautiful head & expression, nice body shape, strong bone & lovely feet. Side on he matched Garrick, but I felt that Garrick came towards me more positively which swung the scales.

What a fleet footed, waggy tailed little chap this is! He is in love with the world & it shows in his expression. Beautifully coated & bodied, he is a nice size, has a charming headpiece & who could resist that personality!
2nd Kowalski’s Trevricia Black Mischief
B/T whose presentation & coat condition were a lesson to many. A bit tall & leggy for me, nicely headed, such expressive eyes & very proud of his tall as he circled the ring with that show off attitude.

1st Bayliss’ Castlewytch Lady Bird
The most advanced & schooled here & she is a charmer with heaps of promise. She is such a lovely size, is so well put together, I liked her head a lot, especially her eyes & that winning expression. Lovely ribbing, good angles both ends, spotless coat & she outmoved the others in her age group to win BP. For me she has that air of quality which denotes success. BP
2nd Surman’s Pennygown Madly Deeply
I found her to be quite disarming with an abundance of charm. Very unfinished when compared to the winner but surely will do well. Beautiful head, eyes & expression. Enough stop, skull flattening well, her length & height proportions are spot on & once she settles on the stack she has great appeal. Just needs to learn to little composure on the move to really make her mark.

1st Sansom’s Byermoor Masquerade
Utterly feminine little blen with all the potential to go to the top. Charming head & expression, nicely ribbed, spotless in coat & presentation & should finish just about spot on for size for her sex, She is sound in action & shows so well for her handler. Only lost out for BP as the MPB was putting a bit more into circling the ring on the move. Shall watch her progress with interest.
2nd Hughes’ Loranka’s Could It Be Magic
Another very feminine & pretty head blen which could finish well. No doubting her sex, lovely size, strong enough bone, lovely outline when stacked, in really good coat & in profile action she is balanced. Just a bit loose in front at present.
3rd Felce’s Lucky Lilly Rose
Junior (11, 3) Some really nice quality here.
1st Eustace’s Charnell Clematis of Salegreen JW
A really promising blen of style & with charm in abundance. Pretty headpiece, gorgeous expression, high set long ears & correct mouth. She oozes femininity, is really well constructed & moved out with much purpose & drive. I’m sure she is on the brink of a very rewarding career.
2nd Cunningham’s Verheyen Meryt
Another very exciting prospect which could also go on to greater things. Again quintessentially feminine & her head & expression will attract many. Loved her size & shape, nice neck, firm back & she is so fluent on the move. I am sure she & the winner will swap places often.

Another outstanding bitch of real quality & potential. Loved her head, good flat skull, well set long ears caress her face & those lovely, soul searching eyes. She is blessed with a decent layback in shoulder, ribs to the elbow, firm in back & she is very sound in action. Quite a prospect.
2nd Pipkin’s Ryanmil Queen Of The Night
This ruby is so sweet in expression from quite beautiful eyes. Her head is such a good shape, ample width, nary a trace of coarseness, Just quality. She is well made in construction, her coat positively gleamed with well being & she is so good on the move. I just edged Dream to first place on her fractionally better finish in muzzle.

1st Coole’s Jolainey Magical
Ultra feminine in head & expression, good neck & spring of rib, nice bend of stifle to well let down hocks & her coat was just beautiful. Side on she travels with a light, active stride. At present she comes towards one a bit loose & needs to firm up there before she can make a serious challenge to those I preferred in the challenge.
2nd Levy, Sedgwick, Cline & Puenchalard’s Pascavale Annalisa
Judged purely on head properties, she would have won! Gorgeous eyes & expression, well defined stop, long, wide leathers & one of the best muzzles of the day. Like the winner, she needs to tighten in front action & on the stack just felt that the winner was that tad shorter in loin so her overall balance appealed more to me.

1st Bayliss’ Castlewytch Painted Lady JW
I see she is the elder sister of the BP & she shares many of the same qualities. Loved her size, clearly feminine yet well boned & bodied, the sweetest of expressions from a well shaped head & stunning eyes. She never stops showing, her front action was the truest in this class & side on she has an almost languid, effortless fluency of movement which is a pleasure to watch.
2nd Sansom’s Byermoor Princess
Another classy example of the breed from this clever breeder. Loved her head, eyes & expression, lovely ribbing & so well conditioned & muscled in hindquarters. Showed her head off & is true out & back. In profile I felt that Lady just had that shade more hock drive which swung a close decision her way.

What a sound moving, happy & engaging little person this is. A tri of much charm, truly of the fair sex in head with the most winning of expressions from quite lovely eyes – large, round & so dark. She is shapely in body, lovely head carriage, non stop wagging tail & sound in action. I see is half sister to the BP.
2nd Long’s Arroline Honeysuckle JW
There is a heap to like about this delightfully headed bitch. It is so balanced, super weight in muzzle, ample stop, excellent long ears & again quite stunning eyes & expression. She is well made & looks like she will move, but regrettably she was toeing in quite noticeably as she came towards me. Her award came from her sheer quality as an example of her breed.

Captivated me from the start. So well constructed, oozes femininity from that classic headpiece & well shaped eyes. Has enough neck, is fairly compact as her ribs go well back to a short, supple loin & well moulded croup. I liked her degree of hind angulation & her action was quite beautiful from all angles. She was in good bloom & never stopped showing. CC & BOB
2nd Cunningham’s Ch Verheyen Tulip
Another blen & right out of the top drawer. This is another good breeder who seems to have stock which appeals to me. A really pretty bitch with a delightful headpiece, stunning eyes & ears & an engaging gaze. Other than being a tad long in loin for me she is so well constructed, moves out soundly & has that ‘glad to be here’ expression which adds to her appeal. She can only be admired as she has real Cavalier charm & it is not a surprise to read that she is already a ch & is clearly worthy of the honour.

1st Sansom’s Ch Byermoor Queens Maid JW
Unbelievably youthful bitch who is coming up to 9 years old, but looks less than half of that. I thought her outstanding in make & shape, stunning head, eyes still dark, bright & so full of life & joie de vivre. She is probably spot on for weight, no middle age spread, she is light & active on the move. Her dentition is perfect with teeth whiter than that of many of the youngsters. Beautiful coat & she clearly still enjoys showing. Must be joy to take her into the ring. BV & RCC
2nd Holbrook’s Marlhouse Natasha
Not the outstanding quality of the winner but a disarmingly charming little person, quite full of herself, tail never stopped wagging. She is a lovely size, is well balanced & has a nice head & expression. A bit full of herself on the move but could only smile at her enthusiasm. Must be an engaging companion.
