Veteran (Dog or Bitch) (6, 0) Mrs Sparrow:
I just love watching the veterans enjoying their time in the ring. My co judge & I agreed completely in our placings in this unusual approach of both sexes in one class. (We understand it was an administrative error). Our stewards had called the class before we had the opportunity to move back to the dog ring. We were assured that all the exhibitors were happy to continue.
1st Sansom’s Ch Byermoor Queens Maid JW
Mrs Sparrow: What a charmer, a beautiful head with just enough cushioning to complement her expressive round dark eyes her bountiful ears framing her captivating face. Lovely black pigment, her correctly made body enabled her to float round the ring keeping her topline with her tail held correctly, she certainly showed as if she was half her age, and not the 8years she is. Totally at one with her handler. I loved her compact balanced profile and she is just the size I prefer. She never stopped showing her happy disposition. I couldn’t resist her for the RCC.
2nd Betts’ Merrydon Black Petal
Mrs Sparrow: At 11½ years young, this well marked tricolour bitch still with jet black pigment and an abundance of ear feathering, dripping in coat showed herself off to near perfection. Correctly made with good angulation enabling her to move beautifully with drive, being true coming and going keeping her level topline. Such a happy soul pleased to be in the ring.
3rd Kilcoyne’s Granasil Dr Pepper
Mr Rogerson: Deep rich ruby with good ear set, nice neck and shoulders, short coupled body, a good turn of stifle, didn’t look his age.

Bitches Mrs E Sparrow (Tashmit)
On this my first time awarding CC’s, I was very impressed with the overall quality of the bitches and would like to thank everyone who entered. There were a lot of difficult decisions to make, and several first class exhibits had to be placed further down in the line up, but I do feel compelled to say how disappointed I was with the number of small eyes, and how many dirty teeth there were. That said, I didn’t find one bad bite and having assessed on the table I was so pleased to see the majority move off with true and positive drive, which has been a problem in the past. My co Judge and I were in complete agreement with all our joint decisions, including the unusual two mixed classes. I couldn’t agree more with awarding the dog Cavaleigh Jacob BOB to send him through to the Group.

Minor Puppy (10 Entries 3 Absent)
1st King-Smith’s Ispahan Blue Bunting
An eye catching blenheim, with a soft gentle expression, gorgeous dark eyes, with the right amount of cushioning for one so young, so well made with good angulation, & length of neck which she used when moving, keeping her level, topline correct tail carriage, movement was wonderful she just flowed round the ring. Such a compact, balanced little girl stood four square with that gentle wagging tail. So well presented lovely silky coat well marked with rich chestnut. Certainly one to watch for the future.
2nd Sansom’s Byermoor Masquersde
At the risk of repeating myself, all of the above comments apply to this little girl, who again should have a good future. Two gorgeous puppies, I wished I’d had to two red cards as they both deserved a 1st place.

Puppy (14, 3)
1st Koster’s Harana Kiki Dee
A more mature Black & Tan on her birthday, showed to perfection as always with this kennel. Sweet in head, dark eyes, jet black pigment, with well set ears. Good construction, loved her outline, a beautiful crest on a good reach of neck, she had a spirit level topline, pleasing head and tail carriage, nice short hocks. It was as if she glided around the ring. Would not like her to grow any more. Glad we agreed her being awarded BP, A shame she didn’t stay for the Puppy Group.
2nd Ireland’s Charnell Xtra Special
And she is. A pretty blenheim with a clean face lovely dark eyes and enough cushioning to give an appealing soft expression. Small cobby body with good bone and angulation, short hocks which she used to drive round the ring. Would have preferred a more broken up coat but it was in good condition and richly chestnut.

1st Searle’s Stonepit Believe In Angels
An impressive tricolour, with a good head shape, soft expression and generous ears framing her pretty face, rich tan in all the right places. A well constructed body, plenty of heart room, a good spring of rib, straight topline kept at all times, well let down hocks allowing her to move positively with drive both coming & going. Such a happy girl who never stopped showing. An attractive picture of perfect size, who I considered for higher honours.
2nd Pagan’s Sorata Miss Emily
What a sweetie just the size I like, nothing overdone. Beautiful dark eyes, good pigment with enough cushioning to give that gentle expression which is so important in our breed. Compact well made body with correct angulation. She travelled round the ring with style, her tail carrying on from her level topline.

A difficult class filled with quality bitches any who could have taken the 1st. A beautiful blenheim, classic head not overdone in any way, good length of ears set well and framing her pretty face. Correctly made, well off for bone good angulation with a correct tail set. Moved positively keeping her topline. Stood four square and showed off all her attributes. Lovely silky coat; well broken markings shown to perfection.
2nd King-Smith’s Ispahan Seabreeze
Another well marked blenheim, small cobby and balanced; who again moved well as only her construction would allow. An attractive head with dark eyes, good length of muzzle. Was only pipped to the post by my 1st having slightly more coat.

1st Bayliss’ Castlewytch Painted Lady
One I have long admired from the ring side and she didn’t disappoint me today. A delightful little girl; with a well proportioned head, with a chocolate box face. Good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, and good length of upper arm, plenty of heart room. She kept her spirit level topline at all times. Correct angulation and short in hock, consequently she powered round the ring. Beautifully presented as always, rich chestnut on a pearly white background. Her happy disposition, wagging tail, and being at one with her handler completed the picture. She pushed hard for the RCC but I preferred the eyes on my RCC.

A charming face with clean markings, sumptuous dark eyes giving that all important expression, gorgeous long ears framing her pretty face. Lovely crest of neck flowing onto her well placed shoulders, level topline, and tail held beautifully as she effortlessly flowed round the ring.
2nd Turnbull’s Lochbuie Evette at Peakdowns
Another well made bitch, just the right size for me. Good length of muzzle to width of head, large dark eyes. Compact body well off for bone, balanced throughout with good angles fore & aft. Moved with drive. Would have preferred her to be a little happier.

1st Dawson’s Pagborne Treacle Tart
A gorgeous black & Tan who I have watched on several occasions, and have thought what a little darling!. On going over her she reminded me so much of "my Jenny" in all ways. A pretty feminine head with enough cushioning to give a gentle expression not overdone in any way, black pigment, balanced in body, good crest of neck giving her a lovely head carriage, table top topline well set tail that she carries happily. Good bone with well laid shoulders and turn of stifle meant she sailed round the ring. Stood four square happily wagging and gazing up at her handler. In good coat, her tan was rich and in the right places.
2nd Brooks’ Moonvale Vivienne
A sound blenheim bitch, pleasing head lovely dark eyes, Nice short level back, good turn of stifle, well set tail which never stopped wagging. Rich chestnut colouring on a pearly white coat, could perhaps do with a little more feathering, but nothing to hide. Moved with purpose and showed well.

1st Koster’s Ch Harana Cilla Black JW
I can see why she is a record breaker. I loved this beautiful black & tan bitch, so full of quality. Very feminine unexaggerated head, soft luscious eyes, melting expression. Ample ears set correctly giving an almost flat skull and framing her pretty face. Elegant neck slightly arched, well laid shoulders spirit level topline flowing into a well set tail carried as it should. Excellent angles fore and aft with well let down hocks which shows in her super movement, she just glides round the ring, with lovely head carriage. In super condition, raven black silky coat with contrasting tan in all the right places. Shown to perfection. I was very pleased to award her another CC to add to her growing collection.
2nd Homes’ Ch Leogem Rhapsody
I remember judging her at her first show and wow; what an outstanding young lady she has become. Classic head with big round dark eyes, sumptuous ears framing her face, her well made body is shown off to perfection when flowing round the ring. Beautiful in profile and her wealth of coat finishes the picture. Strong contender for the RCC, but I just preferred the size of my RCC.
