Dogs Mr R Cornaby (Haydonleigh)
I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge this show and for the generous hospitality they afforded me on the day. I would also like to thank my stewards Jill Sheard, Cheryl Deans and Sue Robinson who kept the day moving very smoothly. It is ten years since I last judged in this area and at that time there seemed to be a lot of short steep upper arms and lose fronts. That has improved but today many of the youngsters seemed lacking in body and on the gangly side. Otherwise the quality of the entry was quite good, but there were one or two handlers who let their exhibit down by not letting it move as freely as it wanted to. I have complained before about exhibitors baiting the dog on the table and a new trend is to hold a chain collar high to show off the head but not releasing it which prevents the judge from feeling the length of neck.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (7 Entries 2 Absent)
1st Walker’s Korolevsky Iosif ShCM
Handsome, masculine Blenheim dog. He has a generous head with a pleasing expression, a well broken coat and nicely put together. He was enjoying his day out, and moved with drive and energy yet was attentive to his handler. Best Veteran in Show.
2nd Hobbs’ Wyncliff Lady Karly of Beaconsfylde
A pleasing Black & Tan bitch, with a neat compact shape and a sweet head with the tan highlights still quite bright. She moved well with her handler and never stopped showing.

Minor Puppy (4, 0)
1st Hannam’s Kinvaar Beretta
The baby of the class at 6 months and 5 days this little Tricolour didn’t put a foot wrong. He is of smaller build and is more heavily marked than my ideal. I was impressed by his overall balance and grace as he moved steadily beside his handler. Best Puppy Dog, Reserve Best Puppy in Show
2nd Wileman & Bott’s Ellemich Konstantino of Narvidar
A nice Blenheim with well broken coat and a good overall shape, and pleasing action. I will be interested to see how the head comes through.
3rd Hedger’s Khatibi Hedger Bets on Alrewic
Res Gilbert’s Bellflows The Gentleman
Puppy (0, 0)
Junior (4, 1)
1st Bloice’s Scotlass Power Of Love
Handsome Blenheim dog with the richest of pigment. His head has a lovely broad blaze and large dark eyes framed by well feathered ears. Nicely put together with a level top line and well angulated hind quarters and level tail carriage. He moved happily and was attentive to his handler. He is the best I have seen yet from this kennel. Best Dog and Best Opposite Sex
2nd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Oscar Nuther
Another pleasing exhibit. A well broken Blenheim, he just needs to body up and settle into himself. He has a good neck and carries himself well with good ring presence, but on the day lacked the drive of the first.
3rd Price’s Almonroyd Accolade
Maiden (2, 0)
1st Price’s Almonroyd Ovation
Nice tricolour, more heavily marked than my ideal but he has rich tan highlight, and lovely glossy coat. I would prefer a broader blaze which would help the expression. He has good bone and substance and was attentive to his handler.
2nd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Oscar Nuther
Second in junior and lost out to the first in this class on maturity. (see Junior)
Novice (1, 0)
1st Coupland’s Kilbarchan’s Thomas Barrow
A Blenheim dog with a slightly unruly coat but well broken. He has a generous head carried on good neck and shoulders, however he lacks the ear feathering to frame the head. He didn’t have time to settle in this class and gave his handler a hard time.
Graduate (1, 0)
1st Bloice’s Scotlass Iamabeliever
Another richly marked Blenhiem dog. He has good neck and lay of shoulder and a good forechest, something that was lacking in many today. He has a good coat and a broad blaze setting off a correct expression with dark rimmed eyes making a very pleasing head. He moved well but was a little proud of his tail.
Special Post Graduate Blenheim (2, 0)
1st Gilbert’s Sweetbriar Mr Darce
A Blenheim dog with a masculine head, he is nicely balance and moved well but a little proud of his tail.
2nd Hall’s Clockpelters The Viceroy
A nice Blenheim dog in full coat, He was 5th in Veteran and thoroughly enjoying his day out. He is larger than my ideal and I preferred the neat size and shape of the first.
Special Post Graduate Tricolour (1, 0)
1st Hedger’s Khatibi Peter Bread for Alrewic
A very pretty tricolour dog of neat proportions. He has a lovely head with a good blaze and rich tan highlights the head framed by large bell ears. With everything in proportion he moves with easy gentle elegance and is very pleasing to the eye. Reserve Best Dog.
Special Post Graduate Black & Tan (2, 2)
Special Post Graduate Ruby (0, 0)
Limit (3, 0)
1st Walker’s Chantismere Charade Kayceekay JW ShCM
A striking Blenheim with the type of masculine head that I like. He has the desired sorrowful expression aided by well featherd ears. He has correct moderate bone with correct construction and moved well. Overall a nice exhibit and I considered him for top honours.
2nd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Fade To Black
A nice Black & Tan with an absolutely gleaming coat. Bright expressive face with excellent ear feathering. He was moving well but just a little proud of his tail today.
3rd Hall’s Clockpelters The Viceroy
Open (5, 3)
1st Hobbs’ Khatibi Ready Teddy Go to Beaconsfylde
A masculine Blenheim dog with lovely dark eye framed by bell ears. A few freckles detract from his otherwise lovely head. He kept a good topline and moved with easy grace. He should have a good career in veteran.

Minor Puppy (4 Entries 1 Absent)
1st Fox’s Lewharle Izzadorable for Lynmily
Petite Blernheim of petite size and proportions. Her coat is correct for her age. She has a good blaze and lozenge and large dark eyes. She took a while to settle but moved out with good drive from well angulated stifles. She improved in confidence as the day went on to win Best Puppy Bitch, Best Puppy in Show.
2nd Jackson’s Lewharle All That Jazz
Attractive Black & Tan with a good glossy coat and rich tan highlights. A little unruly on the move so lost out to 1st who (I was surprised to find) according to the catalogue is her litter sister.
3rd Reeson’s Granasil Chasing Rainbows to Mylriver
Puppy (2, 0)
1st Callaghan & Todd’s Tillashby Tristar at Callyspride
A tricolour of correct size and proportions for age. She has a narrow blaze but bright tan highlights. She was rather loose on the move and really needs to firm up all round. She was however attentive to her handler.
2nd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Cadenza
A dainty Blenhiem of correct proportions relative to her size but overall too small for my taste.
Junior (9, 2) This was the strongest class for quality so far today.
1st Hall’s Rabymar Moon Dust
Lovely ruby bitch in gleaming condition. Pretty face with good dark eye and eye rims. Lovely in profile with neat head carriage and overall shape. She was slightly fidgety but to my mind the best mover in the class. Called in to challenge for Reserve Best Bitch.
2nd Rogerson’s Rabymar Love Potion
A Black & Tan also presented in gleaming condition, and a pleasing head framed by well feathered ears. The same elegant head carriage as the first but not quite as firm in movement so lost out to her litter sister.

1st Inglis, Kirshbaum & Vordestrasse’s Bonitos Companeros Moulin Rouge at Craigowl
A quality Blenheim bitch. Very elegant. Her proud head carriage told you she owned the ring. Loved the shape of her head. The broad blaze sets off her large dark eyes, and lovely clean face all framed by correct ear feathering. She kept a level topline standing and moving and moved with real drive. She just oozed quality and could not be denied Best Bitch and Best in Show.

Lovely Blenheim with sweet head and gentle expression. Shown in full coat in good condition. Good neck and head carriage she moved well and showed happily and pushed hard for top honours. Reserve Best Bitch.
2nd Brooks’ Moonvale Vivienne
Similar type to first with neat head and gentle expression good head carriage and good turn of stifle, just preferred the finish of first.
Special Post Graduate Blenheim (3, 1)
1st Crozier’s Korraines Amanda
Another lovely Blenheim bitch, with gentle expression aided by a good broad blaze framed with well set ears. She moved with real drive and vigour.
2nd Colavecchia’s Carolus Lacey
Slightly larger than first but still a neat shape and well put together. She has a good dark round eye but I preferred the softer expression of the first.
Special Post Graduate Tricolour (3, 1)
1st Hobbs’ Carolus Felicitation at Beaconsfylde
A pleasing exhibit who had 2 thirds earlier on. She has a pretty head with good neck and carriage. Moves well but unfortunately left her furnishings at home.
2nd Grist’s Truejoy Angel Delight
This heavily coated tri looks larger than she really is. You need to feel the smaller frame under the coat. She has a pleasing head and expression but I preferred the neater finish of the first.
Special Post Graduate Black & Tan (3, 0)
1st Maddy’s Gabmaddi Olive Oil
Looked really nice in profile with a good overall shape and good coat condition. Rich tan highlights and good ear feathering. She moved well and was attentive to her handler.
2nd Grist’s Truejoy Sweet Betty Black
Similar to first but with lighter tan markings. She moved well but was a bit proud of her tail.

1st Pestereff’s Charwelton Bess
Lovely mature Blenhiem. The broad blaze and gentle expression I was looking for. I felt she was a tad overweight but she surprised me with her speedy action as she covered the ground well. Trim her down and she could still trouble the best.

1st Inglis, Kirshbaum & Vordestrasse’s Bonitos Companeros Crystal
Handsome young Blenheim bitch. It is all there, she has a good topline and bend of stifle and good neck and shoulders and well broken markings on a good coat. She moved and stood perfectly for her handler but could make better use of her ears. Another quality exhibit who I considered for top honours, but I preferred the expression of the eventual winners.
2nd Richardson’s Lorphil Matinee Kiss
(See Special Post Graduate Tricolour)
3rd Grist’s Truejoy Angel Delight
