Dogs Mr R Dix (Beewye)
It was a great honour to be asked to judge this show; especially as the Southern is my local show and I am a founder member. The show was well run by the hard working committee and several volunteers / pressed parents. There were some excellent dogs and I was pleased to give the top awards to those I considered best met the Breed Standard. The Referee Jane Bowdler came to decide Best in Show and awarded it to the Dog Miletree Montesuma of Londonor.

Bitches Mr A Allcock (Sleepyhollow)
It was a great honour to judge one of my favourite breeds although I found it quite a challenge. Whilst it is paramount that we reward those that closely emulate the breed standard, contruction and movement must also be a strong consideration. Whilst I am the first to admire a dog demonstrating an abundance of breed type I was unprepared to dismiss physical soundness in my deliberations. Sadly, whilst many exhibits presented fabulous heads & coats, some were void of correct balance and fundamental requirements. Low set tails at the end of a steep croup and then conversely, tails that flew in the air which completely distorts outline were alarmingly conspicuous. In many classes, movement demonstrated basic structural faults which all the glamour in the world should not compromise. This breed is a Toy dog and some dogs were far too large and heavy to fulfil this requirement. On the positive side, all dogs were presented in super coat and condition. Dentition was, on the whole, most impressive and temperaments truly wonderful. I was really pleased with the CC short list. As it was such a close call I consider those that did not receive a green card really unlucky. My stewards were superb and at the end of the day a great opportunity was provided for my co-judge Rob Dix and I to agree, inviting Jane Bowdler, the club’s President and daughter of doyenne of the breed, Mrs Amice Pitt, to adjudicate and award BIS.

Beautifully constructed Blenheim puppy; very mature for her age and did not look out of place in this class (despite owners mistake I learnt!). Looked so correct in profile being of ideal size. In great condition and moved with style and precision. Super level back and tail setting. Appealed for compactness. Really happy disposition and an excellent showgirl. BPB & with the agreement of my co-judge BPIS.

The head qualities of this enchanting Blenheim are quite outstanding and those beautifully placed dark round eyes are captivating. Lovely reach of neck and front assembly. Another beauty, and still relatively young. Just lost out on finish of coat today but I must comment on her superb top line and tail setting. Another with a most beautiful head and expression and overall balance to boot. With maturity should trouble the best.

Tri. 2 years. Really produces a stunning profile and combined with being an exemplary show girl she immediately demands attention. Excellent balance of head and eye. Appealing colours and beautifully marked. Moved steadily in all directions. Obviously, a very happy character as her tail never stops that gentle wagging motion! She was really unlucky to meet the winner of the Open class today. I was delighted to award her the RCC and then disappointed to learn that she has quite a collection of these but too date, still void of that large green card!! I am sure it won’t be long in coming. 2nd Godwin’s Cavaliegh Desire
Another bitch that I admired greatly. Stood impressively in profile being in such a beautiful coat and condition. Loved the placement of shoulder, sufficient neck and sturdy loins. Different in type to 1 having a little more substance but equally a lot to admire. Really impressive presentation. Super dark eyes and good dentition. I thought this Blenheim bitch was also of championship quality and it was not surprising therefore, that I note she has achieved her crown. Beautiful quality coat, nicely broken. Super balance in profile. Moved really well. Superbly handled and presented. Just captivated by the head qualities of 1 in reaching this very difficult decision.

1st Tarabad’s Kaidee Kiss Me Kate Khatibi JW ShCM
I judged her as a 6 month old baby at her first show and thought her something special then and it would seem that maturity has added that extra dimension. Truly stunning in profile. Her head has the sweetest expression with those fantastic eyes, head framed by those beautifully feathered ears, all screaming breed type. Super conformation throughout. In optimum coat. So correct in hindquarters, croup and tail setting. She repeated a flawless performance in the challenge and I was delighted to award her second CC & then went on to attain RBIS.
2nd Goodwin’s Ch Lanola So Like Shealagh JW ShCM
Another whose head qualities are absolutely beautiful. I could look into those eyes all day long. Nicely constructed throughout and she moved very steadily in every direction.
