Bitches Mr F Kane (Hirontower)
It was a pleasure to judge bitches at this friendly ch show & with my two stewards, Chris Champion & Alan Dredge In my ring, all ran smoothly. My co-judge, June Hazeltine, was a delight & I liked both her CC winner & Reserve. However, we agreed very amicably to let the referee decide for BIS & RBIS, as I was very taken with the balance & quality of my CC winning bitch. Referee Sandra Ireland awarded BIS to the tri dog, Gamble On You Des Contemplations at Pascavale, & RBIS to Aranel Colby; BOS, Kaidee Kiss Me Kate Khatibi, We agreed on BP, the bitch, Verheyen Meryt & BV, Ch Lorankas Just Like Heaven.
I was disappointed to find so many bitches with glaringly obvious conformational faults. There were many with lovely heads & beautiful coats but the breed should have much more than this, & correct shape & soundness are very important. Steep croups & low set tails not only detract from outline on the move but the whole rear assembly is affected. I had a couple where the croup was so steep that the dogs could not lift their tail to the level of the back. The breed is not complex from the construction angle so it is disturbing to see bitches, future breeding prospects, with serious anatomical issues

Reserve CC Li’s Ch Avalcier Inspired JW
Best Puppy Bitch Cunningham’s Verheyen Meryt

Veteran (12 Entries, 2 Absent) A nice idea to have free entry for the veteran classes & it was good to see this good turn out. Sadly one bitch I liked a lot for type & quality was not sound on the day .
1st Lewis’ Carleeto Dixie Belle ShCM
7 years ruby, wonderfully sound & holding her shape on the move. Excellent head type, good coat for texture & colour. Full of type & quality.
2nd Holbrook’s Marlhouse Natasha
7 years, lovely compact toy spaniel with great temperament. Very sound. I preferred the quarters & darker pigmentation of 1 but appealed greatly for her type & quality.
3rd Flower’s Anberan Tazoberry
Res Smith’s Wightisle Twist Of Magic at Sapphireisle
Minor Puppy (3, 1)
1st Hughes’ Loranka’s Could It be Magic
7 months blen, of excellent type, colour & well broken up. Sound but needs more confidence on the move. Won on head & topline here. In the challenge for BP had gained in confidence & looked very promising but was beaten on maturity.
2nd Gamble’s Lisgarth Catatonia
6 months b/t, very outgoing & sound. Could firm up in topline & preferred skull of 1.
Puppy (14, 5)
1st Cunningham’s Verheyen Meryt
10 months, very typy if heavily marked blen of good colour. Excellent head type & very good shoulders. A little oyerangulated in rear. Won on eye & topline here & her good movement took her to BP.
2nd King-Smith’s Ispahan Blue Bunting
10 months, appealed for her compactness & balance & scored In quarters over 1. Good head type but not using her ears to help her. I preferred the eye & expression of 1.
3rd Godwin’s Cavaliegh Georgia
Res Rennard’s Deranmar Fionnula
VHC Fry & Jackson’s Amantra Oona
Junior (11, 1)
1st Eustace’s Charnell Clematis of Salegreen
13 months, easy winner here, lovely toy spaniel in size & type with pretty head & good eye. Sound mover. Needs to strengthen in loin which just shows in her topline but she is young & has time for that. I expect her to do very well, combines breed type with correct construction & movement.
2nd Betts’ Diddlidors Kerching at Shelpet
17 months blen with excellent head type, flat skull, shallow stop & tapered muzzle, good eye. Very sound moving with good topline. Not the coat of 1 but well worthy of this place for type & movement.
3rd Newell’s Corbieanne Charlottes Girl
Res Jones & Dawson’s Pomelo I Believe I Can Fly
VHC Brown’s Itsadodal Tennyson
Yearling (8, 2) Close decision.
1st Betts’ Diddlidors Kerching at Shelpet

Novice (7, 2)
1st Bayliss’ Castlewytch Krismas Star

2nd Rees’ Loranka’s Make A Wish with Embeth
Lovely toy spaniel in size & balance & a good mover. Very pretty in head & lovely eye. Just preferred the balance of 1. However I liked her a lot & with a little more body on her will do nicely. More heavily marked than 1.
3rd Lewis’ Daraste Good Luck Charm
Res Walton’s Underknoll Rubbeckin
VHC Randle’s Bretam Golden Honey
Graduate (14, 1) Difficult class, very mixed for size.
1st Levy, Sedgwick, Cline & Puenchalard’s Pascavale Annalisa
14 months, beautifully headed & lovely outline held on the move. A touch overangulated in rear & I hope this will look more balanced when she bodies up. Excellent colour & very good topline held on the move. Excellent type & quality.
2nd Smith & Aldous’ Delores Vom Kaninchengarten by Aranel
17 months, real toy spaniel in size. I would prefer a little more leg to her for balance but has so many other qualities on rib, coat & colour & very sound at both ends. Needs just a touch more enthusiasm on the move.
3rd Li’s Avalcier Angel
Res Parker’s Jordanic Milana
VHC Butler’s Tamyse Toot Sweet
Post Graduate (8, 2)
1st Taylor’s Taybar Stella
3 years blen, in excellent coat. Has a lot of quality especially in head & expression. Well angulated. She is a little long in the couplings & this shows in her topline but her qualities took her to the head of this class Excellent movement, good coat & colour. A good winner here.
2nd Walton’s Underknoll Ti Amo
Ruby, very typy & with correct skull, stop & foreface. Not the finish of body or coat of 1. Very good movement & topline & tail. Later won a colour class.

VHC Bartlett’s Sorata Sophie Anne for Korolvsky
Spec Mid Limit Blen (7, 3)
1st Hughes’ Loranka’s Kiss The Stars
18 months, excellent type, at a teenage stage & needs a little more finish to coat & body but the best movement & topline & carriage in the class. Flat skull & tapered muzzle, shallow stop. Should look good with maturity.
2nd Bayliss’ Castlewytch Painted Lady JW
Looked my winner standing. 2 years, more finished than 1 in body but not carrying herself well on the day & losing her topline & not matching 1 in tailset. Beautiful eyes. I would prefer her a little flatter in skull. Excellent colour, well broken up, she can do better when she puts more into her showing.
3rd Vass’ Aranel Deezyned for Clauberry
Res Crane’s Cranvarl Morning Glory
Spec Mid Limit Tricolour (8, 3)
1st Searle’s Stonepit Believe In Angels
15 months, beautiful tri, a real toy spaniel & wonderful on the move for soundness stride & topline. Beautiful head & eyes, excellent topline & tailset. She is too heavy for my taste but I thought her a beautiful example of breed type & soundness. Needs more maturity of body & coat but little else to fault. Destined for a great future & she was very close for the CC & RCC today.
2nd Wiggins’ Thats M’Cupboard Luv from Droleus
3 years, a size larger but a lot of quality. Very good head, ribcage & sound on the move. Not the topline of 1.
3rd Tarabad’s Khatibi I’M Martha Sleep

2nd Pipkin’s Ryanmil Magic Flute
5 years, beautifully headed bitch, in lovely rich coat where she scored over 1 but she could not match her in croup & rear movement but full of quality. I liked both of these quality bitches. Pressed 1 hard.
3rd Gibb-Stuart’s Aldorlege Priceless at Tangledwood
Res Flower’s Anberan Lady Gaga
VHC Mochrie’s Downsbank Holly Berry
Spec Mid Limit B/T (6, 0)
1st Lewis’ Underknoll Diamond Star
22 months, third in Yearling, lovely outline & good head & excellent coat. Needs to drop into herself now & fill her frame. Just looks a little rangy at the moment. Scored decisively in hindquarters & croup to win this convincingly. In beautiful coat & with excellent movement & carriage, correct croup & tailset.
2nd Mochrie’s Downsbank Mistletoe
Almost 14 months, more compact in type & with a very good head & eyes. Needs a touch more confidence on the move & not the strength in rear or croup of 1.

Combines type & quality with good balance & conformation. 5 years, lovely toy spaniel type, scoring in balance here. Lovely head type. Carried herself well & is sound on the move with perfect tailset & croup. Well broken in colour & very sound. A good winner of the CC. I am surprised she has had to wait so long for her first CC.
2nd Chapman’s Ellemich Exclamation
2 years, another who appealed greatly but I just preferred the leg length & balance of 1. Excellent head & eye. Not the topline of 1. Shown in excellent condition. Beautiful colours, well broken up.
