Dogs Mr B Rix (Ricksbury) Saturday 4th of July Eastern Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club held their 50th Anniversary Show held in conjunction with the Boston Championship Show. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Officers and Committee for this special appointment. Sadly, as is the case these days, the dog entries have fallen dramatically, such a shame but fully understand. My co-judge and I had no difficulty in our joint decisions. Dog CC Lovel’s Ch Lovetrac Banksy Reserve CC Rhodes’ Calonlan Zeus JW Best Puppy Dog Lovel’s Lovetrac Beckham       Veteran (4 Entries, 2 Absent)   1st Bloomfield’s Delhaze Reach For The Sky with Oaklake JW Looking and showing like a two-year-old, this richly marked Blenheim had a masculine head, good pigmentation, neck and shoulders. He retained his level topline on the move. He was sound both back and front. 2nd Lock & Thomas’ Bowfort Bo Jo Blenheim not as settled as the winner but had a well broken coat and a well-proportioned body. Just wasn’t putting all in today. Minor Puppy (4, 1)   1st Nolan’s Jernito All On Red Pleasing headed Blenheim that shows promise. His head was very correct, lovely dark expressive eyes, good pigmentation a well-constructed body and he moved soundly in both directions. Once he loses all that puppy coat, he will look very smart. 2nd Wilkins & Wilcock’s Tebaldi Bohemian Rhapsody Just six months old. Shows promise but at the moment just a little immature but his size and quality head appealed. As did his good rich ruby coat. 3rd Bennett’s Charnavale Touch Of Charm at Remmya Puppy (2, 0)   1st Lovel’s Lovetrac Beckham At 11 months he’s looking just right. Pleasing head, good pigmentation, dark well-set eyes, good neck and shoulders. Very well-balanced body. He moved with confidence and he drives well from behind. Very bright future for this smart young dog. 2nd Hartill-Speak & Jackson’s Fortunamajor Resurrection under Gracewincavs Well-balanced Blenheim of ideal size, pleasant head and good pigmentation. Not quite as settled as the winner. Junior (6, 1)   1st Dawson’s Hearthfriend High Hopes at Luphenex JW At seventeen months this very nice Blenheim displayed a lovely outline on the move. His topline was perfectly level both standing and on the move. He had a lovely head with a super expression and good pigmentation. He was so well balanced throughout. 2nd Vorderstasse’s Arrowbien Clark Gable Another quality richly marked Blenheim that catches one’s eye. He had a correct head dark expressive eyes, strong pigmentation and excellent body proportions. He tended to lose his topline on the move but a very glamorous. 3rd Street & Page’s Hearthfriend Highlander at Pipaddie Res McGill’s Sabal Vanagu Imperija at Bjulaseta (Imp LTU) VHC Lock’s Bowfort Sea The Fire Yearling (2, 0)   1st Spall & Clark’s Llapsttam Luther Vandross JW Mature ruby in full coat. One I admired in a stakes class when a very young puppy. He pleased in head, had large dark nicely set eyes, a well-constructed body and was sound in both directions on the move. 2nd McGill’s Sabal Vanagu Imperija at Bjulaseta (Imp LTU) A black & tan that’s a lovely size, good rich tan. He would benefit from more body. Novice (3, 1)   1st Bloomfield’s Oaklake Limitless Tri that had a pleasant head, ideal size, good dark expressive eyes. 2nd Nolan’s Jernito King Of Hearts Litter mate to the minor puppy winner, lacking the maturity of winner but he’s got a lot of qualities to admire. Nice head, good pigmentation and good body proportions. Again, he will look a different dog without that fluffy puppy coat. Special Graduate Blen or Tri (2, 0)   1st Gibson’s Toraylac Conrad at Ellemich A really nice richly marked Blenheim of quality. He had super dark expressive eyes, strong pigmentation with a well-balanced body. A good rich chestnut coat and good bone. He moved soundly both ways. 2nd Boutle’s Applebroad Red Prince A blenheim had a lot to admire. Good richly marked coat, pleasant head, with dark well-set eyes. Just prefer him smaller. Special Graduate B/T or Ruby (2, 0)   1st Chadwick’s Arrowbien Ruby Port at Chadlia Ruby, nice sized pleasant head, had a soft expression coming from his dark expressive eyes. Good neck and shoulders and moving well. 2nd Stoilkova-Stoyanova’s Mecho from Pirin A quality dog in lovely condition. His size appealed as did his temperament. His coat was very bright tan and a raven black coat. On the first walk round, I thought he was the winner but his mouth pegged him today. Post Graduate (2, 1)   1st Eccles’ Llapstta Get Knotted JW A black & tan well-presented. He pleased in head dark, sparkling eyes, giving the desired expression. He had a huge coat that tended to blow around in the wind. He was in lovely condition. Mid Limit (4, 0)   1st Searle’s Stonepit Into The Blue In lovely coat and condition, had a pleasing head dark, expressive eyes, good neck and shoulders. A well-proportioned body and was ideal for size. 2nd Smith’s Beaudale Smooth Criminal Striking in side profile this ruby dog was a lovely size. He appealed in head, and retaining a lovely outline on the move, He had good bone for size and a well-set tail. Just not quite as positive behind as the winner. 3rd Willis’ Dinitro’s Rock Steady Eddie Res Riis-White’s Tamyse Bear With Us at Cerneyleaze Limit (7, 1)   1st Rhodes’ Calonlan Zeus JW RDCC, at almost two years old this dog had the most beautiful head, glorious dark well-set eyes, that were the correct size and well set. He had a well-tapered muzzle, correct mouth, good neck and shoulders. He retained a level topline on the move and he drove well from behind. A correct size for the standard. His heavily marked coat, while some may find distracting was, in my opinion, merely cosmetic. It’s never easy getting the perfect tricolour head. This was a dog with a classic head together with his perfect size. A credit to his breeder. 2nd Williams’ Charnell The Renegade Sancana JW Snother with the loveliest of heads, dark expressive eyes, good pigmentation. He had good body proportions with good bone. He moved well both ways. 3rd Long’s Arroline Kryptonite JW Res Stanton’s Cassandy Say Something Nice VHC Hartill-Speak’s Verheyen Woody under Gracewincavs JW Open (3, 1)   1st Lovel’s Ch Lovetrac Banksy A dog of two years of age. This Blenheim was on top form. His size was perfect. He had a lovely head with dark expressive eyes, good pigmentation, good neck and shoulders. With excellent body proportions, well angulated hindquarters and he moved soundly both ways and was a happy outgoing dog of superb quality. DCC and with my co-judge’s full agreement Best In Show. 2nd Walker’s Carsan Richie Rich JW A tricolour who was so well presented, appealed in head. He stands four square and had good bone and his temperament was typical cavalier. Special Open Bred By Exhibitor (3, 0)   1st Mynott’s Honeybet Hamilton JW Blenheim of ideal size with good rich chestnut markings. A pleasing head, dark well-set eyes.
