Dogs Mrs G Lilley (Kensing)
Thank you to all the exhibitors for providing me with such a good entry of utterly charming immaculately presented dogs. I had been particularly looking forward to the day not having judged the breed for 8 years and it was fascinating to see just how they had progressed in the meantime. Certainly, the temperaments were steadier than of yore with not an anxious entrant amongst them, even the baby puppies treating the whole day as one in which to have fun. Mouths were mostly excellent with just a few level bites. I was especially pleased to see such a good entry of rubies with not a white hair amongst them. It has to be said that these brought back rather emotional memories of our own beloved Ch Starwell Dusky of McGoogans, who became the 3rd ever ruby bitch champion and 2nd ever JW winner in the breed. This was back in the 1970s! Although hind movement was very much improved on the whole with plenty of drive but not so in front with virtually every entrant toeing in varying degrees. Overly gay tails with accompanying uneven toplines became obvious on the move and spoilt outlines in some of the adult classes. The above are only my personal observations and intended to help not criticise. There was a very happy sporting atmosphere throughout the day with a good deal of applause for the results of every class and not only must this have been very pleasing for those placed but was much appreciated by the judge. Thank you to the very generous officers and committee and also to Rob Dix, who bravely managed to steward all day despite being unable to move with ease. A brave man indeed to whom I was so grateful. The current difficulty with finding fuel made for a few absentees and then the hall proved to be very cold due to a problem with the electrics. Hugging a good dog proved to be the best of solutions!

Baby Puppy (3 Entries, 0 Absent) Such a lovely class, every one full of confidence.
1st Fox-Shone’s Pamedna Bohemian Rhapsody
Nearly 6 months old well marked Blenheim, very mature in excellent coat for his age. Well balanced and conformed with slight arch to his neck, good topline and layback of shoulder. Already a great showman who seemed to know it all and how it should be done. Most impressive both standing and on the move. Surely one for the very top. Best Baby Puppy in Show with the agreement of the bitch judge.
2nd Jackson’s Verheyen Cantonia at Fortunamajor NAF TAF
Just 4 months old B/t. A little charmer, very happy and willing if a bit over keen on his tail carriage at the moment.
3rd Fox-Shone’s Pamedna Love of My Life
Blenheim litter brother to the winner and as fluffy and immature as the latter was mature! He seemed a little confused to be handled by a friend of the exhibitor but she and he tried their best. Basically well conformed, just needs time.
Minor Puppy (2, 0)
1st Lovel’s Lovetrac Beckham
Beautiful 7 month old Blenheim with lovely head and eye with an irresistible expression in his dark well shaped eyes. Already in beautiful coat with well broken markings and good fringing. Darkest of pigment, lovely for size and type, good spring of rib, layback of shoulder and turn of stifle with level topline kept on the move. A most impressive showman, moving with drive behind. Most exciting and giving me a thrill to learn that he is sired by BIS. BPIS with the agreement of referee, Stephen Goodwin.
2nd Spall & Clark’s Llapsttam Techno Notice
8 month old B/T with lovely silky coat and good topline. He has a very soulful expression in his dark eyes. Happy and willing on the move with well set and carried tail.
Puppy (6, 5)
1st Surman’s Charnell Go Your Own Way to Vallender
Love his name! 10 month old Blenheim with well laid shoulder, firm body and good feet, in excellent mature coat. Just a touch larger and heavier in type. Such a happy willing temperament, he moved with great enthusiasm.
Junior (3, 0)
1st Martins’ Clemartill L’Amour Est Bleu
17 month old Blenheim of good size and type in well broken coat of lovely silky texture with dark expressive eye and good pigment, well laid shoulder and level topline kept on the move. Good tailset and carriage. A happy showman, who went well.
2nd Jackson’s Fortunamajor Jimmy Choo JW
15 month old Blenheim, good for size and type, an energetic showman in excellent coat and fringing. Dark pigment and expressive dark eyes, good spring of rib and non stop wagging tail.
3rd Lock’s Bowfort Sea The Fire
Yearling (4, 0)
1st Williams’ Charnell The Renegade Sancana JW
Lovely type Blenheim, almost 2 years old, complete with typical spot atop his head, scoring here on excellence of tailset and carriage. Well sprung ribs, a good mover on compact well cushioned feet.
2nd Spall & Clark’s Llapsttam Luther Vandross
19 month old Ruby of excellent size, type and balance. Well made all through with lovely head eye and expression, in very mature coat and fringing for his age. For reasons of his own became over excited on the move and with this extra enthusiasm up came his tail to spoil his otherwise excellent outline.
3rd Chernukhin’s Avalcier Sebastian
Res Danks’ Rabymar Prince William at Alsidewood JW Lux JCh
Novice (6, 2)
1st Pearce’s Rabymar Prince Louie
Celebrating his second birthday here, this Ruby was the best mover of the day if immature in coat currently. So good for size, type, make and shape with that gracefulness so typical of the breed yet masculine, well balanced and simply a joy to handle with all the parts fitting neatly into the whole along with a lovely head, expression and pigment. Scoring with his ground covering stride in a later class. Simply, a true Toy Spaniel who had everything I was looking for except a full coat, currently growing in well. Given maturity this young charmer should go far. RCC.
2nd Hayles’ Angelarc From The Heart
13 month old Ruby, in beautiful gleaming horse chestnut coloured coat, well constructed with good spring of rib, tailset and carriage. He went well with non stop happily wagging tail.
3rd Jones’ Clemartill Vert
Res Lock’s Bowfort Sea The Fire
Veteran (1, 1)
Graduate (3, 0)
1st   Heilagr Maybach (Imp Srb)
2 year old Ruby in hard muscular condition, scoring here on balance. Well made all through with good layback of shoulder and level topline kept on the move. A well handled showman who went well on firm compact feet.
2nd Rhodes’ Calonlan Zeus JW
Tri with good layback of shoulder. Lovely head, eye, expression and pigment, in excellent mature coat. A happy character.
3rd Boutle’s Applebroad Red Prince
Post Graduate (2, 1)
1st Mackenzie’s Carsan In Your Dreams
B/T with a beautiful masculine head and charming expression, of good proportions with well laid shoulder and good spring of rib. A dog of character who, for reasons of his own, would insist that sitting on the table was preferable to standing. Moving with drive behind and covering ground in profile.

2nd Searle’s Stonepit Into The Blue
Lovely head, eye and expression with good pigment, he too moved well behind. Just a touch longer in loin than the winner.
3rd Riis-White’s Tamyse Bear With Us at Cerneyleaze
Limit (8, 2)
1st Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Banksy
2 year old Blenheim, a handsome fellow with beautiful head, eye and expression, in silky textured mature coat. Well balanced with excellent make and shape and thus a pleasure to handle. A true Toy Spaniel who deserves his title if somewhat of a mystery that he bears the same name as the BOB!
2nd Long’s Arroline Kryptonite JW
Good looking masculine Tri, so very fit, in hard muscular condition. Well made all through with good layback of shoulder and firm level topline kept on the move. Such a happy character whose tail never stopped wagging.
3rd Smith’s Heilagr Maybach (Imp Srb)

1st Lovel’s Ch Lovetrac Banksy
Such a handsome 2 year old Blenheim who scored here on his balance, layback of shoulder and front assembly. Beautiful head with a most appealing expression in his dark eyes. A true Toy Spaniel chock full of quality, lovely size and type with no exaggerations. Just as good as he looks to handle, in full well broken mature coat with glamorous fringing. Moving with good drive behind and covering ground in profile. Just going to prove that he is not only beautiful but useful, I was delighted to learn that he is sire of the BPIS. CC, his 9th, & BOB with the agreement of my co judge, whose BCC was so very much of the same lovely type and ownership.
2nd Chapman & Ireland’s Ch Ellemich American Express
4 year old Blenheim glamour boy in the most beautifully broken mature coat with the white background being particularly bright. A great showman with handsome masculine head, a charming expression in his well shaped dark eyes and excellent pigment contrasting sharply against his pale coat. A happy character with well set and carried tail.
