Dogs Mr R Cornaby (Haydonleigh)
I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. The organisation was superb as was the hospitality, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the show. I would also like to thank my two stewards Nicky and Paul who kept everything running smoothly despite having to get to grips with a new computerised results system. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their generous entry and the spirit with which they accepted my decisions. I also admired the sporting way when I asked the exhibitors to move again the person at the front always checked that everyone was ready. With regard to the new health checks, I did see several dirty teeth and a few dirty ears. Attention to these areas should be part of your normal grooming regime.
What is happening to our parti-colours? I had a surprising number of ’blanket’ dogs on the day. The breed standard does state well broken, and the blanket coat does detract from the overall picture. Unless a blanket coat is shown in absolutely sparkling condition it can look very dull.

1st Bloomfield’s Delhaze Reach For The Sky with Oaklake JW
Handsome 8 year old Blenheim dog with a lovely masculine head and pleasing expression enhanced by large dark eyes. He kept a level topline and tail set and moved well but was a little unsettled on the table. He was very attentive to his handler throughout. Sadly unable to stay for the challenge for best veteran.
Minor Puppy (7, 1)
1st Homes’ Leogem Melodic Graffiti
Very appealing 6 months old Blenheim at his first show. Overall, a neat size and shape with lovely head markings. Still in his puppy coat. He was steady on the move maintaining a good topline and tail set and had the correct curve of stifle aiding his driving action. He was attentive to his handler throughout. I liked him a lot. He is by the second in open and out of my best of breed last time I judged at this level, so I think he has an assured future.
2nd Prosser’s Bournevalley Georgio
Another youngster and a pleasing exhibit, he has a heavily marked body but a nicely marked head. Good neck and shoulders, well schooled and moved freely. Overall I preferred the compact body of the first.

Puppy (7, 3)
1st Wilkins & Wilcock’s Tebaldi Bohemian Rhapsody
Lovely young ruby with a rich coloured gleaming coat which makes him stand out in any line up. Carries his head well on good neck and shoulders. Masculine head with the darkest of eyes and dark eye rims. Beautifully put together and covers the ground with ease. Correct amount of coat for his age but as he matures and develops a full coat and more cushioning under the eye, he will be an exhibit you cannot ignore. Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Breed. I watched him move in the puppy group and thought he acquitted himself well.
2nd Bennett’s Charnavale Touch Of Charm at Remmya
A nice Blenheim with a beautifully finished coat. Nice head with good blaze, but the head does need to come through a bit more and he needs to firm up all round. There is a lot to like with this one, but I preferred the positive action of the first.

1st Lovel’s Lovetrac Beckham
Liked this exhibit for his neat size and shape with correct proportions. Good head with large round dark eyes and pleasing expression enhanced by fully feathered ears. Good neck and shoulders with crest which means he carries his head well. He has a good topline and well curved stifles leading to an easy free striding action.
2nd Rees’ Jamesbonny Sail Away by Embeth
A nice Blenheim dog more heavily marked than the first and slightly longer cast but beautifully groomed and put down. Wide blaze and dark eye giving a lovely expression. On the move he has a tendency to pull away from his handler which spoilt the overall picture. A little more schooling and he will trouble the best.
Yearling (4, 2)
1st Gibson’s Toraylac Conrad at Ellemich
Another Blenheim of neat size and shape. Beautifully presented. His face has very broad blaze which enhances the appearance of his large dark round eyes. He moved with ease but was slightly proud of his tail today.
2nd Hawkins’ Lexody’s Legacy
A more heavily marked Blenhiem. He has good eyes and a lovely expression. Lovely feathering enhances his appearance. He was very attentive to his handler and moved gracefully. Overall, I preferred the more compact shape of the first.
Post Graduate (9, 4)
1st Homes’ Leogem Melody Maker
Loved this Blenheim for his neat size and shape. He has a nice head and expression with a good blaze and very dark eyes this all framed by well feathered ears, but he could make better use of his ears and is more heavily marked than my ideal. Good topline and tail set, he moved with a brisk easy action.
2nd Bubb’s Wandris Speak Of The Devil JW
A very masculine Blenhiem dog. He has a well broken coat, a rarity today., Good dark eyes and rich pigment throughout. Good neck and shoulders and moved well, Overall I preferred the neater size and shape of the first.

A lovely Blenheim, he screams type. Beautiful head with broad blaze framed by plentiful ear feathering. The head is carried with elegance on good neck and shoulders. Good fore-chest. Well broken, long silky coat and nice firm well-toned body which is nice to go over. He showed a clean pair of pads when driving away and covered the ground with easy strides. He is very neat all round and I was pleased to award him the Reserve CC.
2nd Williams’ Charnell The Renegade Sancana JW ShCEx OSW
Another neat Blenheim with well broken coat. Lovely blaze with lozenge and pleasing expression. He is most attentive to his handler and moved with real drive. He just needs more coat to complete the picture.

The most glamorous Blenhiem dog. A beautiful masculine head with good blaze and dark eye and lively expression. Good neck and shoulders he moved with real drive showing a clean pair of pads, keeping a perfect topline and tail-set. Totally at one with his handler. He is hard to fault, and he is the consummate showman. I could not put anything over him today. Last time I judged him, he was my best puppy in breed, this time I was pleased to award him the Dog CC and Best of Breed, and I was thrilled to see him take second in the Toy Group under breed specialist Leila Tarabad
2nd Lovel’s Ch Lovetrac Banksy
A worthy champion, he is a lovely Blenheim dog. Beautifully put together and well presented. His body is in good firm condition, and he moves with easy graceful strides. His head is slightly finer than the first but still masculine. He was unlucky to come up against the first on top form today.

A lovely, neat tricolour with the most beautiful head and expression. Such a nice size and shape and correct proportions she moved well and never stopped showing. Totally at one with her handler. Easy to see why she is a champion. Pleased to award her Best Veteran in Breed and pleased to see her shortlisted in the Toy Veteran Group.
2nd Loades’ Rosirius Bluebell VW
One I have judged as referee and one that perhaps should have been a champion. A most lovely Blenheim with broad blaze and lovely eye and expression she has always appealed to me. Her coat has looked darker but she moved well but not as animated as I have seen her.
Minor Puppy (14,  2)
1st Chapman & Ireland’s Ellemich Love Letter
A beautiful Blenhiem with well broken coat and cobby body. Good blaze and lozenge with large dark eye and an alert expression. She moved with fluid ease holding a level topline and tail set. She comes across as intelligent and alert to her handler. I thought her an exciting prospect and awarded her Best Puppy Bitch.
2nd Waterman’s Merryanna Perfect Dream with Burleybeck
A nice Blenheim, but slightly daintier than the first. Nice head with a lovely blaze and perfect lozenge. Neat body with well broken coat she moved gracefully. She will be an attractive prospect in the ring.

Petite feminine Bleheim with nicely broken coat. Good head carriage and lovely eyes and expression. She moved with drive and attentive to handler.
2nd Bennett’s Arroline Incognito at Remmya
Tricolour who is heavily marked and has a narrow blaze but is still very pretty. Good head carriage and nicely put together and moved really well. I preferred the larger eye of the first.

My notes say ’The Finished Article’. Lovely head framed by full bell ears. A neat size and shape she moved with easy grace. Her eyes are dark limpid pools that you can lose yourself in. She has an expression that demands your attention. A really pleasing exhibit. She really caught my attention and after some deliberation I happily awarded her the Reserve CC.
